Michigan State forward Ben Carter granted sixth year of eligibilty Michigan State forward Ben Carter was granted a sixth year of eligibility Monday as the NCAA approved a medical hardship waiver submitted by the school. Carter, who was a graduate transfer to Michigan State from UNLV last year, underwent knee surgery that ended his season last October after landing awkwardly in practice. It was Carter's second knee surgery last year as his final season at UNLV ended abruptly due to a surgery he had last January. Isaac Copeland eligible for season Nebraska Cornhuskers forward Isaac Copeland will be eligible for the entire 2017-18 campaign after receiving a waiver from the NCAA, a source close to the situation has informed FanRag Sports. Copeland transferred to Nebraska from Georgetown back in January. However, he left the Hoyas back in December. The Raleigh, North Carolina native spent the first two years and change of his collegiate career with Georgetown, but his playing time diminished this past season. During his first year with the heralded program, Copeland played in 33 games and made 11 starts, averaging 6.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 20 minutes per contest.
