You know what sucks. My Oven is broken and I have no Idea if it will be fixed by Thanksgiving. My Husbands best friend told me to get Boston Market. You don't want to know what I said to him.
Ok Ron I found something for you to cook on Thanksgiving....Crunchy Cheetos covered Turkey. I swear the world is obsessed with Cheetos go to Delish.Com to get the recipe.
...we're having new flooring and appliances installed, ...hopefully, everything will be ready for our Thanksgiving shindig...probably about 50-55 folks.
...we borrow folding tables and chairs from the school nearby plus we have the formal dining room, a breakfast nook, a bar, as well as an outdoor patio and a pool deck...it's supposed to be sunny and 78 this Saturday which is when we have our annual extended family pre-Thanksgiving get together. Plenty of kids and grand kids and other kin folks and games and assorted "beverages". ...I'm cooking the turkey, giblet gravy, chicken and dumplins, and cheesy scalloped taters with bacon...Annie is making the dressing and everyone one else brings a side dish or tea or plates, desert, cups, utensils, etc) ...Annie and I will have our own little personal T-giving holiday meal on the normally observed Thanksgiving Day the following Thursday. (as will the other family members with their own families at their own homes)
Thanksgiving Football Schedule: Vikings vs. Lions 12:30 pm Chargers vs. Cowboys 4:30 pm Giants vs. Redskins 8:30 pm I better eat early because I don't want Agita watching the Giants.
Hey Ron how long does it take to defrost a Turkey, I had mine in the refrigerator for 3 days and it's still frozen.
the one I cooked for yesterday's pre-thanksgiving dinner thawed VERY slowly in the the fridge for 2 days ...(22 pounder)...so to finishing thawing it and since I was gonna cook it the same day anyway, I took it out of the wrapper and put it in the kitchen sink and covered it with lukewarm water and drained and change the water about once every hour till the turkey was completely thawed (about 2 1/2 hours)...of course it speeds things up if it thaws to the point of being able to remove the giblets and neck inside the bird
^^^Annie gets giddy here anytime the temp gets below 40 and the sky is overcast...she's like a kid as she stares out the window hoping to see a snowflake.
