No. 13 Purdue uses 3-point barrage to get past Rutgers 82-51

Purdue coach Matt Painter first started using his two 7-foot centers together as an experiment.

On Wednesday night, he went with them out of necessity. If Isaac Haas and Matt Haarms continue playing this well in tandem, they could become a big staple for the defending Big Ten champions.

Haas scored 14 points and Harams grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots, leading the 13th-ranked Boilermakers to an 82-51 rout over Rutgers for their 10th straight win.

No. 1 Michigan State beats Maryland 91-61 with balance

Miles Bridges played one of his best all-around games and had plenty of help from his teammates to turn a closely contested game into another lopsided victory.

Bridges had 15 points, seven assists, six rebounds and two blocks to help No. 1 Michigan State pull away and beat Maryland 91-61 on Thursday night.

No. 13 Purdue goes old-school to roll past Nebraska 74-62

When Purdue's outside shots stopped falling Saturday, the Boilermakers went retro.

They drove the lane, fed the post and relied on some good, old-fashioned defense. It's a combination that still works in today's up-tempo basketball world.

Vincent Edwards finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, and Isaac Haas added 14 points to help No. 13 Purdue roll past Nebraska 74-62 for its 11th consecutive victory.

Over-achieving Ohio State stuns No. 1 Michigan State 80-64

After missing the NCAA Tournament the last two seasons, roster shake-ups and a coaching change, Ohio State surged back toward national relevance with a signature win over the country's top-ranked team.

Keita Bates-Diop scored a career-high 32 points, and the surprising Buckeyes stunned No. 1 Michigan State 80-64 on Sunday, bringing the fans at Value City Arena streaming onto the court to celebrate.

Haas' free throw gives No. 5 Purdue 70-69 win over Michigan

Isaac Haas made only 55 percent of his free throws as a freshman.

Now a senior, the Purdue big man is a lot more reliable -- and when he drew a foul in the final seconds of a tie game, the 7-foot-2 Haas was confident.

"What goes through your head is all those times you practiced," Haas said. "It was just natural for me. I knew once I got fouled, I was going to make at least one."

Haas made a go-ahead free throw with four seconds remaining and No. 5 Purdue remained unbeaten in the Big Ten with a 70-69 victory over Michigan on Tuesday night.

No. 4 Michigan State barely bounces back, tops Rutgers 76-72

Miles Bridges may be one of the most unselfish stars in college basketball.

Tom Izzo wants him to change, hoping he'll choose to be more aggressive with the ball.

Bridges ended his scoreless start with 7:43 left in regulation and finished with just 11 points to barely help No. 4 Michigan State bounce back from a loss with a 76-72 overtime victory over Rutgers on Wednesday night.

No. 5 Purdue wins 13th in a row, 81-47 vs. Minnesota

Purdue's star power forward Vincent Edwards has thoroughly enjoyed his visits to Minnesota.

His last trip was the best yet, as the Boilermakers took full advantage of the reeling Gophers.

Edwards scored 25 points in 29 minutes on 9-for-14 shooting for fifth-ranked Purdue, and the Boilermakers romped past undermanned Minnesota 81-47 on Saturday for their 13th consecutive victory.

Wagner scores 27, Michigan beats No. 4 Michigan State 82-72

Moritz Wagner flicked his right wrist, made a 3-pointer and pressed his right index fingers against his lips.

And, there wasn't anything Michigan State players or fans could do about it.

Wagner scored a career-high 27 points, lifting Michigan to an 82-72 victory over the fourth-ranked Spartans on Saturday.

No. 3 Boilermakers keep rolling by blowing out Badgers 78-50

No. 3 Purdue keeps it simple.

Move the ball, continue scrapping and share the credit as the wins pile up. Right now, nobody's executing the plan better than the Boilermakers who proved it again Tuesday night.

Carsen Edwards scored 21 points, Vincent Edwards added 20 and Purdue made 14 3-pointers in 78-50 rout over Wisconsin, their 14th consecutive win with the last two coming by a combined 62 points.

Holtmann makes Big Ten history as Ohio St. tops Northwestern

Chris Holtmann figured an off-night from Keita Bates-Diopwas inevitable. So, too, is the Ohio State coach's first Big Ten loss.

But it did not coincide with his star player's first subpar performance in weeks.

Holtmann became the first coach in 95 years to win his first seven Big Ten games as No. 22 Ohio State defeated Northwestern 71-65 on Wednesday night. Holtmann is the third Big Ten coach to win his first seven conference games, joining Wisconsin's Walter Meanwell (1911-12) and Iowa's Sam Barry (1922-23). Holtmann replaced Thad Matta, the program's all-time wins leader, this season.

Palmer scores 19, leads Huskers in 72-52 rout of Michigan

Nebraska got some long-awaited payback against No. 23 Michigan.

James Palmer Jr. scored 19 points, Isaiah Roby had a career-high 14 and the Cornhuskers beat the Wolverines 72-52 on Thursday night for their first win in the series since joining the Big Ten.

No. 3 Purdue, behind Carsen Edwards, rips Iowa 87-64

It had been seven years since Purdue won in Iowa City.

It took less than seven minutes to ensure that losing skid would end, as the third-ranked Boilermakers unleashed a record-setting performance from 3-point range against the woeful Hawkeyes.

Carsen Edwards scored 22 points and Vincent Edwards had 19 Saturday, leading Purdue to its 15th straight victory with an 87-64 rout of Iowa.

No. 23 Michigan rebounds with 62-47 win over Rutgers

John Beilein and Michigan are ready for a much-needed breather.

Moe Wagner scored 16 points and Duncan Robinson added 12 to lift the 23rd-ranked Wolverines to a 62-47 victory over Rutgers on Sunday. It was the fourth game in nine days for Michigan, which rebounded nicely from a 20-point loss at Nebraska on Thursday.

Bates-Diop scores 20 as No. 13 Buckeyes slip past Nebraska

Playing its fourth game in eight days, No. 13 Ohio State seemed vulnerable Monday night. Facing a surprising Nebraska team that upset Michigan last week, the Buckeyes were at risk of letting one slip away.

But that didn't happen. Keita Bates-Diop, the Big Ten's top scorer, had 14 of his 20 points in the second half and the surging Buckeyes ground out a 64-59 win over the Cornhuskers for their ninth straight conference victory.

Bridges, No. 6 Michigan State hold off Illinois 87-74

Miles Bridges helped No. 6 Michigan State overcome a game so sloppy, coach Tom Izzo called it "ridiculous."

Bridges scored 31 points, Jaren Jackson Jr. had 21 points and 11 rebounds and the Spartans beat Illinois 87-74 on Monday night despite committing 25 turnovers.

Penn State upsets No. 13 Ohio State at the buzzer

With the score tied and final seconds winding down, Penn State's Tony Carr dribbled across the center line and launched a desperation jumper with two Ohio State players in his face. The ball banked in off the glass, and Carr's teammates mobbed him on the Value City Arena court.

The buzzer-beater -- it came seconds after Ohio State's Keita Bates-Diop tied it with a 3-pointer -- gave Penn State an 82-79 victory over the No. 13 Buckeyes on Thursday night.
