TCU upsets No. 7 WVU 82-73 after falling out of Top 25

This was the kind of home-court celebration Jamie Dixon envisioned for TCU when he returned to his alma mater less than two years ago.

Students spilled onto the court, some even lifting Dixon into the air, after the Horned Frogs beat No. 7 West Virginia 82-73 on Monday night. Their first home win over a Top 10 team in nearly five years came on the same day they dropped out of the AP Top 25.

No. 14 Texas Tech has big rally to beat Oklahoma State 75-70

Keenan Evans reiterated a message to his Texas Tech teammates after the senior struggled shooting the ball in a couple of big losses by the No. 14 Red Raiders.

"I was going to be that guy that set the tone, whether it was aggressive on offense, or aggressive on defense," Evans said. "I was trying to be that guy that was kind of everywhere ... just making tough plays and trying to get us going in any way possible."

Evans scored 22 of his 26 points after halftime Tuesday night, and Texas Tech rallied from a 15-point deficit to beat Oklahoma State 75-70 and avoid a third straight loss.

    Young's 26 help No. 12 Oklahoma top No. 5 Kansas 85-80

Trae Young vowed to make changes after his spectacular, yet inefficient game against Oklahoma State.

    He wasn't kidding.

Oklahoma's fabulous freshman point guard had 26 points on just nine field goal attempts, and the 12th-ranked Sooners rallied to beat the fifth-ranked Jayhawks 85-80 on Tuesday night.

No. 5 Kansas builds big early lead, beats Texas A&M 79-68

Kansas has white-knuckled its way to the top of the Big 12.

It took hopping out of conference play to finally breeze to a comfortable win.

Svi Mykhailiuk poured in 24 points, Malik Newman added 15 and the fifth-ranked Jayhawks built a big lead on Texas A&M in the first half before sustaining it most of the way in a 79-68 victory Saturday.

Evans leads No. 14 Texas Tech to 70-63 win over SC

As soon as Keenan Evans saw his go-ahead 3-pointer go through the net, the Texas Tech senior had a message for the Red Raiders.

"OK, we're here," Evans told them. "Let's finish this game."

Thanks to Evans, No. 14 Texas Tech did. Evans scored 31 points and Texas Tech rallied from five points down with 6 minutes left to defeat South Carolina 70-63 in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Saturday.

Mykhailiuk leads No. 7 Kansas over Kansas State 70-56

Kansas shot the ball great against Kansas State in the first half but kept turning it over Monday night, then shot poorly in the second half but did a better job taking care of it.

The good trumped the bad enough for the Jayhawks to win both halves.

Svi Mykhailiuk had 22 points to lead four Kansas players in double-figures, and the seventh-ranked Jayhawks beat the Wildcats 70-56 to retain sole possession of the Big 12 lead.

    Young's 44 help No. 12 Oklahoma top Baylor 98-96

Only one thing was going to slow Oklahoma point guard Trae Young's offensive onslaught Tuesday night.

"He got subbed out," Baylor coach Scott Drew quipped. "Put up the white flag, and they took him out for a second."

Young scored 31 of his 44 points in the second half to help No. 12 Oklahoma hold off Baylor 98-96. The freshman, who leads the nation in scoring and assists, scored at least 40 points for the fourth time this season and the third time in the past six games.

Iowa State rolls past No. 15 West Virginia 93-77

West Virginia's losing skid keeps getting bigger, and coach Bob Huggins isn't quite sure what to do about it.

Donovan Jackson scored 25 points, Lindell Wigginton added 22 and Iowa State, on the strength of 62 percent shooting, rolled past 15th-ranked West Virginia 93-77 on Wednesday night to send the short-handed Mountaineers to their fifth loss in six games.

Evans scores at buzzer, No. 10 Texas Tech beats Texas in OT

Keenan Evans calmly dribbled the ball past midcourt with the final seconds ticking off the clock in overtime. The Texas Tech guard then made a couple of moves to create separation from a defender and hit the winning shot.

Evans scored a career-high 38 points, the last the winning jumper as time expired to give the No. 10 Red Raiders a 73-71 win over Texas on Wednesday night.

No. 10 Texas Tech wins 83-71 at TCU for share of Big 12 lead

No. 10 Texas Tech had firm control of its game at TCU before top-scoring guard Keenan Evans even took a shot.

"It wasn't odd at all. I felt like I was making the right passes, and the team was rolling and making shots," Evans said. "When we're winning, that's all I care about."

Jarret Culver scored 12 of his 20 points before halftime, including consecutive 3-pointers in an early 18-0 run, as the Red Raiders beat TCU 83-71 on Saturday for their fourth straight victory and a share of the Big 12 Conference lead.

Konate helps No. 15 West Virginia beat Kansas State 89-51

Even with several players recuperating from the flu bug, West Virginia's defense can still frustrate the tar out of opponents.

One game after allowing the most points in a Big 12 game since joining the league in 2012, No. 15 West Virginia overwhelmed Kansas State with its pressure, and the Mountaineers ended a three-game losing streak with an 89-51 victory Saturday.

Graham leads No. 10 Kansas to close home win over TCU

Kansas had another game come down to the wire in Allen Fieldhouse and TCU couldn't close out a winnable one late.

These two trends have carried throughout Big 12 play and were on display Tuesday night as Devonte' Graham scored 24 points to help No. 10 Kansas beat TCU 71-64.

No. 7 Texas Tech wins 5th straight, 76-58 over Iowa State

Zhaire Smith got the steal and then was on the finishing end of an alley-oop dunk for No. 7 Texas Tech.

That highlight play by the freshman guard, part of his career-high 21 points, put an end to a quick Iowa State run, and the Red Raiders went on to a 76-58 victory Wednesday night for their fifth straight win.

Texas Tech coach Chris Beard was just happy to walk out with a victory.

"We were pleased to win another Big 12 game today." Beard said.

Keenan Evans scored 19 points and No. 7 Texas Tech beat Kansas State 66-47 on Saturday night to take sole possession of the Big 12 lead.

Manu Lecomte scores eight straight as Baylor routs No. 10 Kansas 80-64

Manu Lecomte took a deep 3-pointer and then slowly took a few steps back toward the other goal while watching the ball go through the net. The point guard then made another long shot for Baylor's next basket.

The consecutive 3s were part of eight straight points by Lecomte after No. 10 Kansas had pulled within a basket, and the Bears went on an 80-64 victory over the Jayhawks, a team they hadn't beaten in five years.

Iowa State upsets No. 17 Oklahoma 88-80

Trae Young might be the best freshman in America -- but he wasn't the best one in Ames on Saturday.

That distinction went to Iowa State's Lindell Wigginton, who kept his undermanned team in contention before drilling the 3 that sent Young and the Sooners packing on the road yet again.

Wigginton upstaged Young by scoring 26 points and the Cyclones upset No. 17 Oklahoma 88-80 on Saturday, handing the Sooners their sixth consecutive loss on the road.

Strong bench scoring helps No. 20 WVU beat TCU 82-66

Teddy Allen emerged from a scoring slump and gave No. 20 West Virginia hope that it still has some fight left in the Big 12 race.

The 6-foot-5 freshman came off the bench to score 16 points and lead the Mountaineers to an 82-66 victory over TCU on Monday night.
