You're just making this up because it fits your agenda. There is literally zero proof that they will turn him into a center eventually. Everything they are doing shows he will be a PF.

Exactly. Playing him at center would be a waste of his perimeter defense. That creates mismatches. Besides, he’s getting overpowered by just about everyone right now, including small forwards. If he does become a center, it won’t happen for years.

I like how you think the video you showed is the best example of him flopping, when it's actually not.

I am not too worried about this rumour to be honest. How many of those materialize after being spread in the media? Not much.

Fire Olshey if he trades for DJ and includes Nurkic unless he ditches Turner and Leonard in the process.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Playing him at center doesn't waste his perimeter defense. Having a center able to switch onto a perimeter player is a big deal, allowing the defense to vaporize the popular point guard/center pick-and-roll or wing/center pick-and-roll that's generally designed to isolate a plodding big man on a guard or wing.

It seems like if this were true, we'd see him on the floor more often with our current starting C that we plan on pairing him with for the future.

That’s only one part of the position he can provide. He’d also have to bang with the 15+ traditional centers running around the league. There’s a reason why Anthony Davis is a power forward.

Yeah. I personally don't think that will be a major problem with an off-season or two of muscle/weight development. While there are still bigger centers in the league, very few of them are dominant players or even players that their teams run the offense through predominantly. If Collins proves to be as injury-prone as Davis, center may not be in his long-term future but I certainly wouldn't start from that assumption. Collins already has the rim protection and perimeter-switching potential that I consider the most valuable defensive traits at center these days.

So the rookie project who wasn't even supposed to be ready to contribute this year is showing some major advances in his game while playing the backup PF but is going to be a C because he doesn't play with the starters yet? That's pure speculation on your part. Look where playing alongside Nurk got Vonleh to this year despite playing the best ball of his career so far.

Is it really getting spread though the media? I mean really all they are saying is the Blazers have interest in DeAndre Jordan nothing else really.

He could play center and I realize his positive traits there, I just think he offers more at PF.

It all started with a rumour from Mark Stein (NYT). So yes it was in the media. And once it's in the media the tractations (if any) are usually dead.

Of course it's pure speculation! We're on a message board. Everything we do on here is speculation. I get he was a rookie. And is showing advances. And was/is a project. It just seems really odd to me that if he is our PFOTF, who is slated to be a staple next to Nurk for the next 8 years of our franchise, and he has won minutes deservedly, that he has not even played 10 minutes alongside Nurk this season. That EVERY time he is to enter in a game, it is a frontcourt line change, and he comes in alongside Davis. All the time. He's won minutes. He deserves to be playing. He's playing PF alongside Davis. He's seen time with the rest of our starters. All of them except for Nurk.

I have no idea what Vonleh has to do with anything in your post, so going to ignore that portion.

There's a 90 percent chance Nurk lost strength this off-season.

    This off-season....

Hire Someone to work on his post game.

Add some core strength and a little upper body.

Fine tune his diet for maintenance.

    It isn't that hard.

    Orrrrrrrr.....

Have him and Meyers shoot threes all summer... that's probably it for these morons.

If we are deadset on Zach being CoTF as an organization I'd have no problem moving Nurk, and obtaining DJ in the short term win-now mode.

    For example I'd like to see three trades happen if this was the case;

    Trade 1)

LA: Evan Turner, Noah Vonleh, and POR 2019 First Round pick (top 8 protected)

    POR: DeAndre Jordan

    Trade 2)

MIL: Jusuf Nurkić, Shabazz Napier, Pat Connaughton, Meyers Leonard, and 2020 NY 2nd round protected pick

NY: Moe Harkless and rights to Dani Diez

POR: Jabari Parker, Courtney Lee, and Matthew Dellavedova

    Trade 3)

    UTA: Allen Crabbe TPE

    POR: Joe Johnson

    Dame / Delly
    CJ / Lee
    Aminu / Johnson
    Jabari / Davis
    DJ / Collins
