Even as much as I dislike Cashman I can't buy Gossage acting like a two year old because he wasn't invited to spring training. Damn Goose, you had a career, made the Hall, have a nice pension so STFU.
My opinion of Gossage was mixed. He did some good stuff but I also remember him giving up bombs that sank the team. Gibson flat out kicked his ass in the '84 Worlds Series. Brett hit a couple of bombs that counted for sure the '80 ALCS and I believe the Pine Tar Game. During the '83 season he gave up a game winner to Lowenstein in July and the Yankees season went south from there. Shit I liked Sparky Lyle more than Goose.
Goose said it was "insulting" for him to be compared to Mo. http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf...ose_gossage_targets_1.html#incart_river_index ...Well Goose, let's take a look at the stats; Gossage; ERA 2.77 WHIP 1.197 BAA .221 OBP .301 OPS .620 Mo;........ ERA 2.06 WHIP 0.973 BAA .207 OBP .257 OPS .541 ...sorry, Goose...you lose.
Gossage has had this thing about how in his day the closers went three innings. We get it the game has changed.
Found out today that Gossage plaus guitar. Saw video of him playing bass with Flash Cadillac. The article also stated that Gossage played on a 2015 Album with a guy named Douglas Docke. Did not find that one. Hell Goose you need to roll up one of those Colarado Cigars, call Donovan, and do a duet on "Mellow Yellow."
...used to listen to Donovan quite a bit as a kid...Mellow Yellow, Sunshine Superman, Atlantis...Mom and Dad would just shake their heads.
First there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is, yep Donovan did some really good stuff. Those you mentioned are excellent. Also liked Jenifer Juniper, Yellow Is the Color of My True Loves Hair . Donovan was an excellent folk guitarist. Still love his stuff today.
