The Blazers scored only 18 points on swish3s versus 33 points scored by the Suns. That 15 point deficit was nearly enough to lose a game that better play, including minimized turnovers and some good defense, put us in position to win. Kudos to Dame for the excellent 4th quarter heroics that saved the game!

The Blazers coaches should have put Meyers in when others were missing, especially in the 3rd quarter, to take advantage of the team leading swish3 shooter to make about 6 additional 3 point shots. This adjustment can help the Blazers toward the 112 points/game that would likely mean wins. It does not make sense to me to leave this talent on the bench. By now, Meyers should have taken at least 100 swish3 attempts, not just 17.

Meyers would've made 6 threes in the 2nd half? You realize its not hard for teams to take away his 3, right? And then what? Then we're fucked.

Yes! Meyers would have made 50% of his swish3s based on season statistics! That is why his talents should be part of the Blazer scoring threat that can bring the additional points needed per game.

With his improved shot this year, and coming off the bench, other teams are not likely to prevent his shot. He should be assigned to shoot swish3s to make at least 3, and preferably more, in each game.

I agree but only to an extent. Instead of having him take six additional threes, since he is guaranteed to score 50% of them (based on the fact that he is 9 for 18 for the season so far or something), he should be taking all our shots. 80 attempts from Meyers mean 40 made threes and 120 points needed to win.

Yes, Sarni! I am glad that you agree. The point is the scoring power of someone who can make the swish3s when we need them to keep the Blazers in the game, i.e., with at least 26 points per quarter. Let's hope for no more 16 point 3rd quarters!

The numbers are impressive. Having taken 100 swish3 attempts by now, Meyers could have scored 150 points that would have led to more wins.

He is too much of a defensive liability. Do you not think there is a connection to our improved defense and his dnps?
Our team is finally learning that defense wins. I do NOT want to see them veer from that. Nurk, davis, collins and Aminu are all defensive studs. Until Meyers can learn to hold his guy in check like those guys, he wont get anything but garbage time minutes. And shouldn’t.

    Here's the thing about Meyers.
    He sucks.
That and he still takes along ass time to shoot 3's. So it's not a given that he'd be able to take many of them NOR is it a given that he'd actually shoot them. He's had 6 years to show something consistent, and he hasn't. He's not good. He's the same inconsistent, slow, insecure and frustrating player that he's been for the last 3 years. He over thinks things.

Remember the "new Meyers" that he promised at the start of the season? Where'd that guy go?

People are taking this thread seriously? It's a tossup whether this or the Blazers win the championship in 2065 is dumber.

Leonard has to be wide open for an hour and a half to even attempt a three point shot. Nope, he's more like a wonderful garbage time player.

Leonard is better this season we think...but not good enough yet to beat out a 19 year old rookie who weighs about 190 lbs soaking wet...he lost a spot because we gave him some burn and he turned the ball over three times in a row...that's subtracting a few swish3s ...he's our 3rd string center....

These broken record criticisms ignore the statistical facts that show Meyers with good defense as well as team leading swish3 shooting. For the season, Meyers has less turnovers than Zach and is not a defensive weakness.

Meyers is an scoring weapon that the Blazers need to keep the number of swish3s above 12 per game. He is improved and should be in there when others are missing these key shots. I would play him and get those 9-18 additional points that can mean an additional 6 or more wins.

Most of the Blazers have had lapses where you can fault them. It is time to put the bad game in the past, remember the 17 point scoring, and use Meyers to cure the problem of horrendous shooting that we saw in the 3rd quarter of the Suns game.

he's improved...said that...he's not playing because people who've been with him at every practice, game, etc have chosen the rookie over him..he lost his spot. I understand why. Joel Freeland was better than Meyers and Meyers played more his rookie season too...there's still hope...find comfort in the fact that he's earned about 52 million to be on the roster no matter what.

Meyers is a scoring weapon with superior statistics for FG%, FG3%, PER, and WS/48 and improved defensive statistics. With him adding 9-18 points/game, in place of the below average performance of Zach, the Blazers can get to the Western Conference Finals. Playing Meyers at times when Zach and Jusuf are looking tired and not scoring will make the probability of the finals more likely.

I REALLY hope Meyers gets another chance for consistent minutes in the rotation & I hope he does good.

If he does that, there's a chance that he could be traded.

I honestly think being traded would be the best thing for him. He needs a new start
