I gotta go. This means you're on your own. It's Restaurant month and I'm gonna go try Fogo de Chao or however you spell it. I know you're all aching for my full report but you're just gonna have to wait. Over and out.
At least in LA, the Bevely Hills location is way too packed in there. I can't imagine during Restaurant Week, they must pack them all the fuck in. The Salad bar is pretty weak for something you are paying over $50 for. Meats are decent but the few times I've been here, they didn't blow me away like other Brazillian steakhouses have, there is better for cheaper, at least here.
We went out for lunch with Hobbes and his family and stuffed ourselves. We didn't have much room for all the food. It was a little on the upscale side. It's a sort of buffet, a Brazilian steak house buffet. There's a salad bar that's so so, followed by wandering Gaucho dressed servers with Chicken breast, pork chop, lamb, I think pork and sirloin. My wife ordered her sirloin well done and I asked for mine medium rare. They both came medium. The sirloin was a bit tough and had a little too much fat. The usual price is $55 but right now it's $33. If you like traditional meats and you've got a good appetite, it's a great deal. I think we might try Ruth's Chris Steak House and the Ringside next. We walked by Ruth's from Fogo's to our car and noticed nobody wearing a coat and tie. This is really different from the last time we were in a Ruth's Chris Steak House in Cleveland about ten years ago. I remember Ruth's as being the most expensive restaurant I've ever been in. Have to agree.
the pro tip is to order a side of Chimichurri. Also, during Restaurant Week, they do not offer a few of the higher end cuts of meat.
Spoken exactly like my niece. And the part about not having the higher cuts of meat would certainly explain a lot.
