Because Middleton is much better than any of those guys and they want to consolidate their talent. Their roster is built for a trade.
I remember when I was 21 and thought everyone in their 30s was old and probably needed boner pills to take care of thier ladies......I was wrong.
"One of the top 20 players in the NBA would be great for our team because of reasons!" is my favorite style of post.
It seems to counter productive to let your best center and one of two best players leave just so you can get yet another player for the position that you are actually pretty fine in. Unless they think Adebayo is ready to start and play significant minute in every game. Even then I think they can do much better than Whiteside for Middleton.
I get where you’re coming from there. I think Whiteside has had issues with Coach Spo and was benched some games for his lack of effort and then Adebayo would come in and really make the most of those minutes for a lot less money. Making me think Whiteside would be available for the right price. For Milwaukee, they’ve been looking for a big man for an entire year and Whiteside fits their ‘blueprint’ pretty perfectly. Anyways, I wouldn’t be suprised if Middleton gets traded and I would love him to be here I just don’t see an offer we could have that could beat other suitors.
I think Portland will have two strategys going into this off-season. One, poaching quality players from teams who look to add big names to their roster. Philly, Lakers, ZombieSonics, Rockettes, Spurs. Two, helping teams free up PT for younger players who their teams believe have more upside. Was, Phx, Bos, Nets, Knicks, Dallas
I like Middleton a lot and I also do not see a deal that we could make to make this work. He would compliment this team so well at small forward position. As for Whiteside, he would be a good fit for Milwaukee for sure but I don't see Middleton for Whiteside that would make sense from Miami's perspective. Maybe include a third team in there that would have more of a need for Middleton but would have some young talent to send back to Miami who might want to go a little younger?
You'd have better luck selling ice to an Eskimo. Layman is 24 and there is nothing promising about him. BNM
Sorry I missed the joke. Probably because the two players you mentioned have nothing in common. Swanigan is 20-years old and still has some upside. Layman is 24 and doesn't. Someone may actually want to receive Swanigan in a trade. Layman, not so much. BNM
Would i be a sacrificial lamb if i said let it bake? Sign our free agents and go another year, see where we sit and hen try to make the move for that missing playmaking difference maker?
