A trade of CJ and other pieces for Love and #8 is definitely one of my favorite trades if it is on the table. I'm not even that big of a Love fan either. I just don't want Collins to be included too. I completely disagree about not maximizing his talents as I think he is best suited for the PF position not Center. Love would be more of a hindrance to Collins than Nurk would. However I think we could maximize Love by not over working him all season and allowing us to be patient with Collins to develop. The #8 pick would be the key here to me.

I don't really care if Roberson is the best defender of all-time, any guard who shoots 31% from the free throw line and 22% from 3 is a complete liability. We need playmaking wings in my opinion not just defensive ones.

CJ isn’t worth a no 8 pick and Kevin Love though. A straight up trade for Love would be almost fair, adding a very good pick in a draft that will for sure have several nice prospects available there would be overkill.

He did say "other pieces" and you conveniently left that out.

That is what I think but it's weird that several national writers seem to always throw that one out there.

Well because the other pieces we have aren’t that valuable. Aminu or no. 24 pick won’t really look that great for Cavs. The rest of our roster is negative or neutral value at best. Maybe Harkless has some value but at $10M we would need to take JR Smith or someone like that from them for Cavs to be able to take on all salary.

CJ and Collins are our best assets. Outside of them two there is small value of no 24 this year, our 2019 and 2020 picks and maybe Harkless and Aminu. The rest of the roster has no value or can’t be traded.

Aminu would be very valuable as someone who could guard four positions while spacing the floor for LeBron. Find a way to make it a multi-year deal to save them over $10M (which would save them over $20M in payment incl. tax) and add in a 2019 1st and we're getting close.

Yeah, we need to take JR Smith or someone else along with Love if that happens though. I doubt CJ’s value is much above Love’s though and as I mentioned no. 8 pick should be VERY valuable this year. Someone like Bamba, Carter or Bridges should be there and they are all very good prospects.

Would you take a chance on Boogie?

It would have to be a S&T.

For CJ? Only if I knew Cousins would get back to his best. I don't know that.

BTW I think Philly are getting both Leonard and LeBron this offseason. Going to be nuts.

I don't think it would take CJ to get a rehabbing Cuz. He might not even play this upcoming season.

Let me do you a favor and let you know that any mention of a sign-and-trade is a complete waste of your time due to the CBA.

Schroeder spells his name by including umlauts over the 'o'. Translating that into English means adding an 'e' after the vowel containing the umlauts. e.g. Schröder becomes Shroeder. Also, Germans pronounce that closer to shrooder rather than shrader.

Oh, I'm almost 100% certain that if Leonard gets traded, it'll be to Philadelphia. He's a perfect fit, and only making $20M so depending on the deal they could still have max cap space.

Any deal made would certainly center around Fultz. Fultz, Saric, Bayless, the 10th pick, the 26th pick, and maybe a future 1st is a very good package.

They get Leonard and then PG or LeBron.

Point Forward - Ben Simmons (6'10)
Point Forward - LeBron James (6'8)
Small Forward - Kawhi Leonard (6'7)
Small Forward - Robert Covington (6'9)
    Center - Joel Embiid (7'1)

The size with that lineup is insane. The defensive switchability is at a whole new level, whether they have LeBron or Paul George.

In high school we had a zone defense called "Schroder". It was a weird, hybrid 1-2-2 / 1-3-1 zone. Never seen anything like it, and it worked wonders with athletic bigs (my senior year we had me and a big that could windmill dunk).

    Balls up top - 1-2-2
Balls at FT-Line extended - Weakside wing drops down to weakside block, weakside posts comes up to defend strongside elbow.
Ball goes to corner - Big at the block goes out to defend corner, big at the elbow slides down to defend the block, strongside wing slides back to defend elbow, weakside wing stays down at the block ready to try to intercept a skip pass.

So one big had to cover the corner, block, opposite elbow, and opposite block.

I think they offer Covington instead of Saric if they also offer Fultz and the pick. When Kawhi is traded it will not be for a massive haul considering his last year and his upcoming free agency. Saric stretches the floor better than Covington and is overall a much better player so I think they keep him.

Simmons, Kawhi, LeBron, Saric and Embiid is an insane lineup. Utterly insane.
