Really? Personal? You wouldn't take the job if it was offered to you? Ok. I apologize then.

Why would we take a flyer on anything other than a sure thing right now? If the situation is as bad as you say it is a good coach isn't going to be interested.

And when was the last time Paul Allen paid top dollar for a top coach?

He doesn't. He's not going to do it. And if he starts making decisions like you're suggesting over Olshey's head this is going to get worse rather than better.

You're just casting about whining about our most successful stretch in over a decade and it just gets old.

In his defense, most successful stretch in over a decade has us getting swept twice in the first round, and gentlemanly swept twice in the second round... that’s not something to be proud of, we deserve better.

Its not our most successful stretch in a decade. We got swept in the first round.

What the hell are you talking about? If youre talking multiple seasons and comparing them to the fallout of the JailBlazers era and then recovering from losing Roy and Oden, thats not saying much.

You preferred missing the playoffs every year? Getting bounced in the first every year?

Olshey, Stotts, and Lillard have gotten us into the playoffs every year. They've gotten us to the 2nd round 2 of the last 4 seasons, even while losing our most dominant player 3 seasons ago.

    Come on man...

Look at our playoff success the last 4 years. When was the last time we had that much success? Go ahead. I'll wait.

When was our last division title before this season? Go ahead.

I’m sorry that I’m not impressed with mediocrity, I guess? You’re the type of fan Olshey wants though. Happy with the meaningless titles and accomplishments.

4 years ago our starting lineup was 4/5ths different. That team was inherited from a previ ous era as well. So only the past 3 years are relevant.

1st round in the past 4 years in the playoffs:
    Lost in 5
Won in 6 (CP3 and Griffin hurt)
    Lost in 4
    Lost in 4

    That's your definition of success?

    And we're talking DIVISION TITLES...?!?!

    I want LEAGUE TITLES!!!

You cannot win this argument. Some people simply do not see what the team has done over the last three years as positive. Growth from within is slow. They want success right now. They do not like adding one player a year and trying to improve the team through the draft and small steady moves. There is no way the improvement you will see in Collins and Nurkic and Harkless will be enough to excite them. They will also not like the limited amount of improvement the Blazers could get from a Mid level acquired player. The TPE will not provide that huge splash they are looking for. Winning 50+ games and getting to the second round next year (If that happens) will still not be enough. Getting to the WCF is the only thing that some people will actually accept as a good season for this team. Which would be absolutely crazy good for this team to make it that far in 4 years from total rebuild. But it will not be enough even if it happens for some.
My suggestion is to simply allow those differing opinions to simply be a different opinion.

I'm satisfied with a young team that is improving every year. We have time.

Thank you. Who was the last coach and GM that got us to the playoffs 5 years in a row? How long ago was that?

That would be great if other teams stayed the same... unfortunately other teams have younger stars with more growth potential... McLillard ISO ball will not change, other teams will get better... Blazers won’t face teams with their best player out again like this year... dead last in assist and fast break points in entire NBA... swept by Pelicans... don’t see the same growth you do

Olshey will have to make some changes. No doubt about it.

So getting to the playoffs (which more than half the league) is what counts as "success" to you? That explains a lot.

If you're goal is to make it to the 1st round and get swept, then everything should stay the same.

How many of our role players are you and have room left to grow? Collins and Nurkic are the only ones. Other than that, our other young pieces don't play and won't be anything more than fringe role players at best. We should have veteran pieces instead of Layman, Papagiannis, etc... but that would make our team appear not as ying so that narrative wouldn't be as strong....

I actually kind of agree with you, but I’m gonna play devils advocate for a second.
PapaG from all accounts is a guy with a lot of potential, so he can get better, Baldwin looked like he might have something, Swanigan seems to be a fan favorite. Collins and Nurkic aren’t old either. It’s not like the Blazers have 0 shot of having internal growth make them a better team.

The problem IMO is not that the Blazers have zero talent to develop, it’s that there just won’t be consistent enough opportunity with McLillard playing ISO ball and taking half the shots as Stotts allows
