You honestly think two non-lottery picks are generally considered equal in value to a 6? We'll have to disagree on that one.

That would be one of the most ironic trades ever!

Even if we do that trade what do we do when no team above us will trade down? Last year it cost the 76ers #3 and the Kings 2019 pick (only protected #1) to move up. If Doncic is the target (his idea) it looks like it will have to be 1 or 2 we'll need.

That's a huge cost just to get the #9 pick. Bridges seems like an intriguing talent, but we'd be taking on about 20mil more salary plus the luxury tax so the deal would cost 45mil give or take We could get Henderson much cheaper than Lee and Thomas and Noah don't do anything to help the team other than cost a lot of money in luxury tax.

Yeah, I looked at that chart and it didn't make much sense. It's almost as bad as the trade machine where you just plug in equal salaries and you can come up with Durant or LeBron. I wish it was just that easy.

It was a historically deep draft class. I wouldn’t use it as an example.

Hmmm, not sure how I did as I don't recall asking a question, lol. What was my question and what was my answer?

In 06, we traded Khryapa and #4 (Tyrus Thomas) for #2 (Aldridge).

We also traded #7 (Foye) + cash for #6 (Roy).

We also bought the 27th pick (Sergio) for cash.

    Boy those were simpler days.

Obviously they wouldn't help the team--that would be why NY might consider giving up the 9 to get rid of them. I'm not saying that Paul would enjoy the extensive cost, or even that it's worth it--just theorizing what it might take.

Would certainly prefer some of @hoopsjock's or @BonesJones' propositions for Philly's #10.

Possibly. Then again, Bagley and Jackson could conceivably impress significantly in the next couple months and move up the boards.

Imagine that both the deals I proposed this morning happened, and we ended up with Doncic at 4 and Mikal at 9. Definitely take a step back for a couple years, but once the youngsters develop and the bloated contracts fall off, look out! Never happen, I know, but I'd definitely be intrigued by the potential of that squad.

    Dame/Doncic
    Lee/Bridges
    Thomas/Parsons
    Collins/Leonard
    Nurkic/Noah

If Doncic fell to 4, I would probably do that. I just don't see that happening though.

In your scenario if we had 24 still too and got Hutchinson, we'd come out of the draft with three wings.

I could get down with that. If they pan out...add them to Dame, Zach, and Nurk, and that could be a contending core in a couple years.

This might be like the Oden draft in that the Kings can not possibly screw this up drafting 2. Even the Kings should know they take Ayton or Luka at 2...right? Both worthy of going 1st let alone 2nd.

Maybe. I've already seen at least one national analyst saying that for the second consecutive year, the best player in the draft will be a Duke player picked 3rd. I don't think the top 2 are necessarily a slam dunk, especially once workouts and the combine come around. Don't be surprised if a couple of these GM's let metrics supersede game tape.

You asked how we could get 13 with 24 and 26 when we got 10 with 15 and 20. But then you answered how by mentioning that this years class isn’t anywhere near the caliber of last years.
