coming up pretty soon, who you guys got?

I think it’s gonna come down to one of Germany, France, Brazil, or Spain.

Germany best football country ever. Will win more world cups than any other nation through out the lifespan of humanity.

I always want to see the USA win it though.

Well shit I guess that shows how much attention I've been paying.

    Surprising, but not that surprising.

USA soccer will never go further than the round of 16/quarterfinals unless more of our good athletes decide soccer is more fun that basketball, football, and baseball... which it isn’t for the vast majority of us Americans.

However if our best athletes decided to play soccer from a young age we’d dominate the world easily.

The French team is super talented but also has a lot of young players. I think they are the most important team of the tournament.

Major League Soccer will have long term payoffs. America will be on par eventually and by then the fans will have taken notice.

Edit: Major League scooter would also be awesome.

I think losing the Euro Cup in their backyard strengthened them for this World Cup, they are the favorite if they put it together but so was Brazil in 2014.

I hope so, I really want America to do well. I’ll be honest I couldn’t care less about club soccer but I love international play.

You should watch the EPL as there are some great teams and great players and they are shown during the season every weekend. I've been a Man United fan for several years along with my son and my wife and daughter are Chelsea FC fans. Makes for some fun rivalries.

Belgium is my darkhorse as they have a lot of talent as well and Portugal can be a team that can pull some upsets and make noise.

I haven't been following international football much lately. I hope Belgium, Switzerland or Portugal win, but it will probably be Germany. Have Brazil bounced back from their national trauma and modernized their game yet? Have the French cured their neurosis? I work swing shift, so I'll be able to watch a lot of games in the morning, yeah!

I love the World Cup. The USA will be good eventually. MLS is great and I’m a huge Timbers fan.

Need to bump this to the regular forum I think. Pretty pathetic that Italy/US did not even qualify

I was deeply upset when the USMNT didn't qualify. Now that we're at the doorstep of the World Cup kicking off, I feel even worse. This blows. I have no rooting interest in any of the other teams, at all. Did Iceland make it back? Guessing not or people would be talking about them again. Maybe I'll root for Messi to finally get over the hump. I don't know....maybe El Tri (barf). Few things are more engaging to me than the USMNT in World Cup.
