But how did we do in the draft? I don't follow college football, but how good is this Meriweather guy? Was it a good pick?</div>Brandon has a lot of talent/potential. The reason he fell was because of character issues, if not for those he probably wouls have gone a lot earlier. He'll be a very good player in this league if he can control his issues, and with the Pats he hopefully will. They have a history of handling players with character issues. As for the Lions pick, Harris is still on the board, along with Stanton and Edwards. I really like Stanton, but Harris would be great. And guys, it's Beck, not Buck. [IMG]

I've had the opportunity to watch him closely over the last two years. Very smart, good in coverage, good tackler..Just a great all-around saftey, can do it all. People knock him for his off the field behavior and the brawl, but he's gonna be a great player. Sadly the you guys picked him. [IMG] Anyways, about the whole Quinn thing. Almost every Dolphin fan I've talked and heard from is going hay-wire. I'm not upset at all though. If they feel Quinn isn't worth the 9th overall pick, but Ginn is, I support the decsion. I was never too crazy about Quinn anyway. A lot of people consider some of the 2nd Round projected QBs to be almost as good if not better than Quinn. And now we see why we passed on him, taking Beck in the 2nd Round. He'll be 26 by the time season starts, but he looks very good. I think it's very possible he could develop into a better QB than Quinn.

I called it!!! The Lions will take Drew Stanton!!! Their trade with the Bills worked out both ways. Stanton will be perfect for Detroit.

Drew Stanton is so overrated, he's got a lot of problems he needs to work on.

Agreed. I have Russell, Quinn, Beck, Kolb, and Edwards all before him.

I actually like the pick of Stanton. No, he doesn't have a rocket arm or amazing strength, but he's got everything to be a successful QB in the NFL. He has average arm strength, but he has solid mobility, does everything well, but nothing fantastic. He has great leadership and character, which is very important for a QB. Plus he will be learning under Mike Martz, and will learn from Kitna, who mentored Carson Palmer in Cincinnati his first year. Plus at MSU, his WR's pretty much sucked all year, with the exception of maybe Trannon. His running game wasn't as good as expected, and the coaching was pretty bad too.

As for his mechanics, I always thought they were good and he gets his throws off quickly which is always a good thing.

No disrespect to Beck, but he's not going to be what Quinn will be in the NFL. Quinn has good size at 6'3, he makes good reads on the field, he controls the huddle well, he knows how to handle the NFL publicity already considering he got more publicity at Notre Dame than many NFL starters got, he's a smart quarterback, and it is reported that he is very coachable, as well as will try hard to be an NFL quarterback. His biggest problem is his passing accuracy, which was still not that bad. He had one or two mechanics problems, related to his drop back and push off at his feet, which are completely fixable. He is going to be a stud in the NFL in my opinion, and those idiots missed on him.

Another advantage of taking Quinn is he was taught under former Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weiss and understands the game very well....Weiss is an incredible coach and is a big reason the Patriots have three super bowlsMiami is retarded...Ginn Jr will NOT make an impact..he's pretty much Wes Welker..so they basically didn't do anything

Man Jerry Jones keeps pissing me off. He keeps trading down. I look forward to Cowboys picking someone and then it's gone. They have made 3 trades. And the first one where they got Browns #1 for 08 was great. But the one with the Eagles and another with the Browns is not necessary. It's just giving other teams better players. He trades 1 decent pick for some low craps

Browns doing more dealing with Dallas, get Eric Wight in the second round. Why not a running back? Ugh.

LAZY, just curious, but why didn't you want Peterson to go to Minnesota?
