"However, to get deGrom they would have to include third baseman Miguel Andujar as the headliner; one of their top young starters from the group of Domingo German, Justus Sheffield or Jonathan Loaisiga; and one of their two young outfielders, Clint Frazier or Estevan Florial. That's a steep price to pay, but imagine Luis Severino and Jacob deGrom each getting two starts in a seven-game series."

Would Yankee fans be willing to part with Andujar/German or Loasiga (Sheff untouchable)/Frazier for a 30 year old pitcher who is dominant know but entering the wrong side of 30? Or is it about getting a ring now and worrying about the rest later even though you are giving up very valuable assets?

I'd be OK with trading any 2 of Andujar, German, or Frazier.

^^^^2 players, not necessarily those mentioned, for DeGrom. 3 is too many!

I doubt The Yankees will make a Trade with The Mets.

...more likely, it's the Mutts who won't deal with the Yanx.

...I could live with that...with Judge, Hicks, and Stanton already in he fold, I just don't see Frazier breaking into the regular starting lineup for at least the next couple of years anyway.

Sounds like they wan't either Frazier or Florial, one or the other and a couple more...
I doubt the Mutts will even consider Wade, Walker, Drury; and Billy McKinney's name we're not hearing much of if at all. Won't be surprised if the Mutts wan't to clean out t/Yanx farm system as much as possible...

Not sure I wan't to see Andujar leave yet, but the Mutts will ask for more than the usual, for more than what deGrom is worth.

I'd not be surprised to hear the Mutts wan't 2 of 3 in:
Germán, Sheffield or Johnny Lasagna, which one or two, would the Yanx give up on?? and why isn't Cessa's name in this pile...

I haven't seen enough of the latter two, Sheff and Lasagna. Tho' what little I've seen read et al, I'd toss Germán and/or Sheffield both before I'd give up on Lasagna; maybe (still need to see more of JS).

I've not been too impressed with Domingo, and what little I've seen of Sheffield, (Futures Game) he looked pitiful. Sheffield's Fastball never topped 93 mph. Tho' his scouting reports say he's got a 97-mph FB, and a hard sharp slider; which I never saw him throw such in the Futures game. JS threw a very hittable 93mph Fastball with a lack of movement...a curveball that wasn't special....Like I said, I've got to see a lot more of Sheffield before I can even comment.

Anyone else seen much of Sheffield this year at S/W-Barre...

What its going to cost the yankees if the mets are even interested in trading with them to get a pitcher of degroms quality and experience is gonna be andujar, frazier, and sheffield. Andujar gets replaced by drury and perhaps machado next year, no place for frazier to play this year or in the future with yanks stacked in outfield and florial on his way eventually. Sheffield is a good prospect but right now thats all he is. Yanks are loaded with young pitching coming in double and triple A. If I'm cashman I make this deal which puts yanks over the top imo.

...THIS ^^^ has always been my thinking about "prospects"...I'd rather have a PROVEN veteran than a youngster who may or may not eventually someday pan out.

...if you have an opportunity to make your team instantly much better by acquiring a pitcher like deGrom in return for prospects who currently have no foreseeable place on the Yanx" roster anyway, you pull the trigger on that trade.

...Cashman, get on the fucking phone.

The Mutts would want a HELL of a lot more from the Yankees for DeGrom then those 3 players. I have no doubt they’d want Sheffield, Florial, Frazier, Andujar, Adams, Lasagna and probably even more. And not because DeGrom is worth it, but to trade your ace to your crosstown rival and not have the entire fan base burn down your stadium in return, the trade HAS TO be that loaded. It’s likely why the trade with the Mutts never happens here. I’d focus on the Angels and see if I can’t pry one of those, if not both, youngster pitchers away from them or even look to Oakland who loves to trade with us.

Domingo has tremendous movement on his pitches. He needs time to develop control, much like Seve.
If I recall JS had a very good fall league ...22ks in 20.1 IP 3 walks

    Thanx Al.
Domingo bagan his Minor Lg career 2 yrs prior to Severino & his MLB career 2 yrs after Seve; & is Only 1 yr older.
Amazing what Severino accomplished in 2 short yrs.

In due time hopefully Domingo, Lasagna & Sheffield will develop as Ace's.

I've seen very little of Sheff & I don't have much of a clue what he's capable of...pretty much the same with Johnny Lasagna.

I hope we don't regret a move IF one of these are traded.
.Imo a trade for deGrom is possible, but may not be probable. I'd love 2C deGrom in Pinstripes, but not at the expense of mortgaging 1 to many prospects, a real crap shoot IF it happens at all.

I'd wager we won't see deGrom in the Brox...

I have mixed opinions on pushing for degrom..

On one hand you get another ace that can equal any team in the league. One that could be 1 or 2 years worth of being a stud.

On the other hand...imo it puts us on par with houston and perhaps the sox..does not guarantee us going further than last year. Next season i do not see gardy back so frazier becomes our everyday left fielder...miggy is doing very well at third, not sure there is going to be an affordable replacement for him...outside of sheffield and adams we havent heard much of other pitchers in the organization that could be top 3 of the rotation.

The mets will want more than im willing to give up for a possibilty of being equal not necessarily better than our two rivals.

The only thing a trade will do is to allow us not to fear a one game playoff as starting seve in that game always degrom to pitch game 1 of the next series.

IMO, deGrom would make the Yanx' chances exponentially better.
