The 2019 draft is weak, I'd rather trade it then for that reason, and because itd us to trade our 2021 pick (potentially the greatest draft ever) of needed.

If its true and we were the only team that offered Cousins $10M+, then that's a big factor in our favor. Plus, him and Dame are tight. Jed come here. By shedding MyLe, ET, and Nurk, we'd have close to maximum cap space.. shed Hark and we would.

    gotcha.
How did they offer him 10 million if they didn't have 10 million? S&T?

I think a lot of why teams didn't offer him that much was because of his health. His injury can be career changing.

Perhaps we offered a S&T with New Orleans for Harkless, that would match $10million quote and New Orleans need a 3.

It was rumored we wanted to sign ave trade for him but his agent blocked it. We were offering him $12M-$15M, and were apparently offering Harkless for him. Could've included Layman and Swanigan too.

Why would Melo approve a trade to Atlanta unless they had a buyout already agreed upon and why would he come here instead of signing with Houston?

Because Atlanta would buy him out.

Because we were his 3rd choice after HOU and OKC. If not, we could promise a buyout.

Schroder was a huge reason why I won my basketball fantasy league last year.
If he's on OKC... Will have to look elsewhere.

He looks bad, but you can certainly understand it from his perspective. Sixers prolly told him he'd get PT off the bench but they then make a trade for a guy who plays his same position/role in Chandler. Now he gets to another team with a ton of players in his position, but has more $ guaranteed.

...so is this line of thinking from Jabari Parker a millenial thing -or- just someone that doesn't really know the history of the NBA?! :dunno:

Mindbogglingly idiotic. But also eliciting laughter. Perhaps he's a comic genius...?

That’s quite cheap. Surprised Sacramento did not offer him a poison deal like $18million a year to see if Boston match.

It's a sign of someone who should have spent more time in school, or at least more time in class during his time in school.

Queue Charles Barkley, "I am not a role model"...

They got Bjelica after they already had Chandler I think so he would have known that.

He's only kind of wrong. The NBA has always been about which team can get their offense players to play great defense, not the other way around.

Ed Davis makes jack and is almost out of the league, Enes Kanter gets paid. Parker can score, but he won't be part of a championship quality team without a serious dedication to defense by him, and by the players he's surrounded by. Importantly, he doesn't need to be great, but he must be as good as he can be.

Scottie Pippen, Ben Wallace, and Draymond Groin are a few counter-examples that spring immediately to mind, with championship rings to underline the point. They were/are offensively limited players who were terrors on defense. Pippen and DGroin were/are best as facilitators on offense. Pippen at least became fairly good at hitting open shots and was lethal on the fast break. DGroin can't hit anything other than unguarded 3's and dunks. But despite being primary ball handlers from the forward position, both were too stiff to be much good shooting off the dribble. So, definitely defensive players who become good enough on offense.

Think a little harder. I think you can come up with 5 or 6 more counterexamples out of the 100s and 100s offensive first players.
