Oh great, Hicks has hamstring problems...no wonder Gardner’s in center! Shit. Ain’t life in Yankeeland Wonderful......non stop injury territory.
Here’s Chapman in the 7th. Do not like Chapman’s body language.....his fastball is all over the place..... his slider is his best pitch. Got the lefty batters out.
Zach Britton readies for the 9th inning. He will be pitcher #8 on the night. Gary Sanchez screws up again. A strike out wild pitch. Britton gets 4 outs. Yankees win, 4-1.
The win goes to Gray who BTW gave up Rays’ only run and only 2 hits. The “worst” pitcher of the night gets the W. Who says this game is fair?
As a Yankee Fan who lives in St. Petersburg nothing pleases me more than seeing the Yankees beating the Rays and their cowbell clanging asshole fans. Still waiting for Judge to mash one over the fence. Gray &Robertson excepted nice job by the staff.
Just saw the video of that catch, damn sure saved Robertsons sorry performance. Gardner still is a damn good defender.
Game Recap- Sanchez- have the Yankees had his eyes tested, seriously??? Another passed ball, 2 Strikeouts, 0 for 4 with stranded runners... Is batting average is sinking faster than the Titanic at .180- Imagine being a Diamondbacks fan. 1 months ago the D-backs vs 15 games over 500. They were in sole possession of first place on the 1st of September, and have gone 5 and 17 over the last 22 games, 8 games back; say bye-bye postseason...
Sanchez sinking Deeper by the day, not to mention he has played less games than most catchers. Seriously I'd love to see him start the season in Tampa next year, I wouldn't even let him play in Scranton Wilkes-Barre AAA... Maybe in Trenton around the All-Star break... Imagine a combo of Cervelli and Romine. I know I know Cervelli liked the vitamin S juice...
More than likely this is the play of the game. Unfortunately I did not get the Telecast. Did Gardner make a hard play look hard, or a routine play look hard??? As horrible as the Trop roof is, I imagine he probably lost it in that damn white ceiling, roof, whatever you want to call it, let's just call it a sauna cover... Good thing he's okay. I have yet to hear the status on Hicks hamstring...???
I'm concerned about Hicks with the left hamstring muscle. We have to admit that Gardner played a great defensive move out there in center.
