We need some experienced bigs on this team. Caleb, Meyers, and Aminu, are just not going to cut it. Zach still has time to grow. Instead of looking for the next misused young big, I would like to see us pick up an experienced big who is in the way of some young guns waiting to develop kind of like what happened with big Ed. One name that comes to mind at least for me is Nikola Vucevic. He isn't the best defensively but isn't bad either. Offensively he is a stud and will be 28 this year...and like I said he has youngins waiting to develop in Bamba and Isaac. Nikola could still work with Zach and 2 7 footers (Nurk?) who can shoot from distance would really open up the paint.

I have no idea what his actual value is, but having someone who can get you that kind of production from the inside out with the second unit would be a huge boost.

This seems like an Olshey move to me and is within Dame and CJ's timeline.

I’d take Vucevic as a backup, and he’s an expiring, but I don’t see how we’d match up financially/player wise with Orlando.

Some targets that might be available

    Bobby Portis
    Tyler Lydon
    DJ Wilson
    Isaiah Hartenstein
    Cheick Diallo
    Vonleh
    Richaun Holmes
    Chris McCullough

All these guys are young, which kinda goes against your point, but I couldnt really find any realistic vets worth pursuing.

Some of these guys might get cut before the season. Some aren’t eligible to be traded just yet. But I would take all these guys over Swanigan and Meyers. I’d seriously consider cutting Biggie at this stage. I’ve seen higher picks let go earlier.

Thon Maker could be available with the play of Christian Wood...

He’d fit in the Vonleh TPE. Wouldn’t give up a first but I’d be interested.

I doubt they'd give up on him so soon. He's still very young.

Well he might be very young, nobody knows for sure. :D

They certainly won't need a first. I'm at a Bucks forum (they are a team of interest for me) and their fans would be delighted to get a 2nd for him.

Could be like a Harkless type move. They also have DJ Wilson who I liked outta college. I’d take either one.

It’s crazy that short of going small our backup bigs are Meyers, Biggie, and Collins. Two haven’t shown NBA talent and the third is still raw.

Seems like the Clips have a TON of duplication and an eye on next Summer. Shame most of the duplication is at guard. But look at their roster:
Guard: Their two rookies, who are obviously the future (Robinson and Gilgeous-Alexander), plus
    Lou Williams
    Avery Bradley
    Patrick Beverley
    Milos Teodosic
Tyrone Wallace, Sindarious Thornwell, Jawun Evans
Something's got to give. If they waive Thornwell, I would love it if we could sign him somehow because he's a great defender. I'd never heard of Evans, but I watched the Clippers-Denver game and he threw some nifty passes.
Also, I doubt they see Gallo as the future but I've always liked his skillset. He's like the rich man's Jake Layman.

Too bad we didn't pick Wood up ourselves when he was on the FA market.... like I was advocating for.

I kind of like the idea of a Collins/Maker combo on the 2nd unit. The Bucks were one of the teams I was hoping we'd use the Crabbe-TPE with to take on a bad contract to add Maker or Brogdon. My guess is we probably could've had Maker and Dellavedova for nothing in return if Allen was willing to pay that much tax.

Hey Neil get on it. Actually I doubt anyone trades for him but I’d love Wilson on a two way.

I'd love Wilson on a regular contract. I don't know why he isn't panning out don'ti Milwaukee but the dude has talent. I think Portland would be great for him.

Funny how he’s on the bubble while Biggie is seemingly a lock. Wilson over Biggie any day imo.

100%. Wilson has NBA athleticism and a better jumper IMO. He could be a solid 3rd big in the future.

If Milwaukee is looking to get rid of him, then we should cut Biggie (or trade him to a team that wants him?) and then use some of that Vonleh TPE and a 2nd on Wilson.

Holmes just went to Phoenix so probably won't be available. We had Vonleh. DJ Wilson is about to be waived by Milwaukee so should be available but he's very bad.

Why do you think Wilson is betty bad? He was a rookie last year. I've watched him a lot. I think there's untapped potential there.

Yes Holmes just went to Phoenix, but they sent nothing but cash for him, and he's non-guaranteed, and they already have 15 guaranteed contracts. He's not a lock to remain on their roster.

Honestly I haven’t watched him since he got into the league outside of the g league. Bucks fans seem to want to get rid of him ASAP. I don’t get why, he’s barely played for them.

The only thing I see is that supposedly he really avoids contact.
