And then AD leaves and we have to trade Dame and then we're Brooklyn and were rebuilding for the next decade.

Overvalued raw box stats, and doesnt value defense beyond steals and blocks, so stat-chasers (like Russ) or defenders who gamble a lot get rewarded much more than they should.

Please show me where I've ever used PER as a stat.

Barnes stats aren't better compared to Brown's sophomore season. Oh, and did I mention Brown is 22?

AD stays to play with Dame and we're a contender for years. We would have the rest of this season and all of next season to show him why he'd want to stay. I like that you think we're getting the bad end of this trade, that means that maybe NOLA would be down.

On Bleacher report they suggested trading Moe wade and a future 2nd for Ariza. What do you guys think?

Ariza is not better than Aminu and makes twice as much. He's barely starter quality. What's the point?

Well, Ariza is better than Aminu. But I agree that there's no point to obtaining him - he's not better enough to (a) make a difference or (b) justify the cost.

They need a point guard who can defend and play Next to booker, Harkless also gives them some Defense, which they desperately need. Thats a good trade imo

I would do that, but not for on court reasons. It would really help our situation this summer if we can clear one, two, or all three of the Turner, Leonard, and Harkless contracts.

Make that trade and then send Turner to Cleveland for JR Smith and all of a sudden our salary situation is a million times better next summer.

    Isn't Ariza an expiring contract?

I think we need to trade Harkless for Layman. We’ve looked bad since Mo has been back. Not saying he’s the sole cause, but I liked out look better with Jake. Maybe they’re doing this to show teams that Mo’s knee is healthy before they trade him.

I took this from another thread because I wanted to mention a couple of players. The first is that Vonleh in theory would be an excellent fit on the 2nd unit with Zach as that backup 4. Oh well can't change that now.

The other guy that might be attainable is Bobby Portis. He's currently hurt but should be coming back soon. I think he'd fit well either with Nurk or Collins on either unit. I'm not sure what we'd have to give up though. I wonder if Leonard and a couple of cheap salary filler guys (Swanigan, Layman, Baldwin, Curry when eligible) and a 1st would be enough to get him and RoLo (expiring).

They loss 4 of the last 6 games Layman had started, so the downward spiral had all ready started with him in the starting line up.

In the throwing salt in the wound category, The Vonleh Trade Exception for Ntilikina works straight up. But we'd have to cut someone to clear a roster spot, we already have too many guards and need a back-up 4 more than a guard that can't shoot. I get that he's a good defender, but the guy is flat out horrible on offense (.333 FG% and .257 3FG%).

Other than that, Collins for Ntilikina works, but makes out lack of depth up front even worse. Other than that, it has to be a multi-player trade, with two, or more Blazers going out.
