https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/n...r&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=darrenrovell Friday, NBC Sports Washington debuted an alternate sports betting-focused broadcast of Wizards-Bucks. It featured a "predict-it" game that allowed viewers to watch and guess what would happen next, leading to an increase in digital engagement. The alternative broadcast tested the future of a seamless sports gambling product and was the first betting-style broadcast by any of the four American major sports leagues.
Very disappointed in his dunk rate. It's dropped to only 25% of his made field goals, and he is now only out-dunking seven entire teams (earlier this season he was ahead of 15, including the Blazers).
I don’t like the idea of opening up betting in sports at all. The NBA already has a tarnished history with betting. Look at boxing lol, it’s so corrupt it’s a joke.
Heck--just checked, and Gobert and Capela both actually have more dunks on the season than Giannis does. LOSER!!
...obvious problem here is how do you guarantee live real-time broadcast footage or are the bets not that time sensitive?!
For as long as I can remember when I go to espn.com/nba/schedule I see the link to buy tickets for each game, when I go to espn.com.au/nba/schedule I see the odds and a link to a gambling company (although they have recently also added buy tickets). When I have watched streams from the US the lack of sports betting adverts is noticeable. Both here and in the UK there's gambling adverts every commercial break. We even have the odds built into the broadcast, so someone like Brooke would give you the odds, and some suggestions of exotic bets (although various states have legislated against this). It's no surprise that Australia has the highest rate of problem gambling in the world.
There has been a problem in the past with people at cricket matches relaying the outcome of each delivery (pitch) to betting syndicates outside the ground before the broadcast can (which is about 30 seconds behind). This enables the syndicates to quickly place bets with the outcome known. In response both police, and security roam cricket grounds looking for people suspected of this activity.
