Final year of his career I was 10, and last year he was here I was 7, so that made me feel better about not remembering him.
Think they were Sonics still. Danny Young at Rip City rally June 1990. Next to him Byron Irvin whom Blazers traded for Danny Ainge, Nate Johnston, who had cup of coffee in NBA, and Uncle Cliffy.
10 year old me loved Byron Irvin. He was my favorite Blazer his rookie year. That would be like Anfernee Simons being someone's favorite Blazer now. Looking up his stats he played more than I remember him playing. He averaged just over 5 points per game in 50 appearances on our 89-90 Finals team.
Dude, you need to take the advice Mrs HCP must give you all the time..... If you're going to do it, do it right.
That's Nate Johnston next to Danny and Byron is next to Uncle Cliffy. Btw, funny thing about Irvin. Not only was he traded to Sacramento for Danny Ainge, but the Kings traded him for Steve Colter.
Correct, double checked after posting. Sorry photo was blurry, that was before I got my Nikon. I took it with an old pocket camera. The printed copies are decent, but they don't scan well.
Did some searching, in the back of the cupboard behind various DVDs and videotapes, I still have the tape of that Rip City rally - set VCR and set out at 6 AM so I could get right up close. Ah, memories.... at least four people there are no longer in land of the living.
