Who do you guys think the Heat should pick with the 20th pick? Who do you think will fit in well with them? Who do you think will still be their when they pick? I don't have an opinion right now I just want to see what the draft experts on our site think lol.

I know that the Heat need to get either a point guard or a backup center (if Mourning decides to retire). A point guard should be their main priority right now though. If they can pick up Acie Law or if Mike Conley Jr. doesn't take his name out of the draft and isn't picked up by the same team that takes Oden, then either of them could be a good choice for the Heat. If they can't pick those two up, maybe even Taurean Green from UF's championship team would be a decent pick. But other than that, if they don't end up picking a PG or at least picking one up either through free agency or a trade, then Miami's going to be in trouble next season.

Are you kidding? Mike Conley falling to 20?

Both Conley and Law will be gone before 20. I think a guy Miami should look at is Javaris Crittenton. He's not participating in the Orlando Pre-Draft Camp, so he could slide a bit (on the contrary, he could also impress in individual workouts). He could be there at 20, he fills a need, and he definitely has a lot of potential. He's about 6'5'' and he's very athletic, he's got good court vision, he can run a halfcourt team, he's pretty explosive when he wants to be, and the potential is certainly there. He won't be stud right away, but he'd be a good pickup for the future core.

If Crittenton isn't there, then they should look at Derrick Byars. He's a lot like James Posey, actually, but he's got more potential and he's much more agile. Miami will likely lose Kapono this summer and Posey/Walker are declining fast. Byars is a solid all-around ballplayer, he'd help Miami defensively.

I think the Heat should just pick the best player available. Regardless of position. They can't be too picky looking for a specific position considering how much this team lacks young talent that contributes. Outside of Shaq, Wade and Haslem, they don't have of anything. Marcus Williams would be a fantastic pick.

I could see them picking up:Aaron Gray (Center who could come off the bench)Josh McRoberts (if he falls to 20)Arron Afflalo (smart guard who reminds me of Rip Hamilton a bit)Marc Gasol (Center who is big but slow, Like Shaq)Jason Smith (Center who can shoot the ball)Aaron Brooks (Point Guard who could take Gary Payton spot once he retires)

Jason Kapono might be leaving, so they might want a shooter.....Antoine Walker is basically garbage now as well, so SF is a need. How about Derek Byars? He's good all around, and he's got a great jumpshot.nbadraft.net has Acie Law going 20th...I don't know why he's dropped that low, and I don't think he'll stay there, but if he actually does then it is a no brainer. Both their PG's are old....This guy can drive, shoot it, pass the ball, he's a flat out scorer; and a flatout PG.

I got them taking Crittenton because he's a great talent, with a world of potential. Acie Law won't be there at 20, you can put that in the bank.

Right now, I like Acie Law if he slips. If not, I think Josh McRoberts or Javaris Crittenton would be a good pick. I would really like one of the PGs but I guess I wouldnt mind McRoberts. The only positions we have good young guys at is SG (Wade), SF (Wright), and PF (Haslem). I think we could use McRoberts as a backup PF to Haslem but I rather get a PG for the future since Williams and Payton are already on the decline.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ May 28 2007, 05:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Jason Kapono might be leaving, so they might want a shooter.....Antoine Walker is basically garbage now as well, so SF is a need. We have James Posey, Dorell Wright, Eddie Jones, and Antoine Walker who will probably all come back for atleast one more year. While we are desperate for young guys at any position, I think a SG/SF would be a waste of a pick when he have much bigger holes to fill with this pick.

Better go for a Pg. Acie Law[my favorite college player] just might fall to their spot if they are lucky or Javaris Critterron or however you spell it. There are plenty of good 1st round pg's available I just hope we get one or we get a proven one in Free Agency

I think they should go with Crittenton also if he is there. With him they can have a young player that can get out and push the ball, and help provide something that this team could use, a little bit of transition basketball. Start giving Dorrell Wright more minutes, and this could be a good team in both the half court(they would still have Wade and Shaq for the half court) and open court with Crittenton pushing, Dorrell and Wade on the wings, and Haslem as the trailer big man. In the half court, Wade would not have to control the ball as much, and work as both the playmaker and scorer. He could concentrate more on scoring, which I think would help out this team alot. I like Crittenton for this team if he is there.
