Huge Third Quarter Puts Charge over Greensboro

    The Canton Charge (12-15), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, defeated the Greensboro Swarm (12-16), 121-96, in a matinee matchup on Monday afternoon. Their largest margin of victory yet this season, the win is Canton's third-straight and fifth in the last seven games.

    With the Charge leading 54-52 coming out of intermission, the visitors went on a 25-7 run that put the contest out of reach for good. The Charge led by as many as 25 in the third quarter and their lead never dipped below 20 for the remainder of the game Canton outscored Greensboro 36-16 overall in the third period, with nine of the ten players in uniform scoring points and a collective 7-of-12 from three-point range.

    Sir'Dominic Pointer led the seven Charge players in double figures with 20 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in 28 minutes. JaCorey Williams scored 18 points and grabbed six boards with three steals and two blocks in 25 minutes. Scoochie Smith posted a double-double of 11 points and 10 assists with five rebounds in 36 minutes. Kobi Simmons netted 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting and Levi Randolph scored 15 points.

    Dwayne Bacon scored a team-high 20 points with nine rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes. Chinanu Onuaku had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds in 30 minutes. J.P. Macura added 11 points on 4-of-9 from the field in 32 minutes.

    Canton will next head to the Sunshine State for a meeting with the Lakeland Magic on Wednesday, January 23rd at 7:00 p.m. (TV: ESPN+).
