All rumors and trade crap can go here. Hopefully, Gorton cleans house. Way too many half ass vets on this team.

Saw that the Oilers may be interested in Fast. They may be able to get a 2nd for him since he has another year left. Looks like Talbot is on the block for them but i don't even know who their starter is these days.

Problem with the Oilers is every year they are interested in players and every year they don't want to give up any young prospects or picks. Same crap, different year with them. Of course they would be interested in Fast. Their role players suck ass. They play no defense and have low hockey IQ's.

The Oilers are limited on cap space too so a Fast type salary for a 2nd and maybe a prospect would be right down their alley I'd think.

Well, now the retards on other boards once again think all our players suck and won't get return. Staal according to them is untradeable. I guarantee Gorton will trade him if he wants to.

I kind of like the idea of keeping McQuaid around. He's a rigjhty d guy with size. He can mentor young defenseman. Skjei plays much better with him. He can also protect the young guys. Staal needs to move on.

    My predictions:

    Definitely gone: Zucc, McQuaid
    Very likely gone: Hayes
Potentially gone: 2 of Vesey, Fast, Namenstikov
Would be surprised if gone: Skjei
Would be pissed if gone: Zbad, Kreider
    Hopefully gone: DeAngelo, Smith

To me Kreider and Zibanejad are main guys to be the new veteran core going forward. I don't want a team of all 22 year olds. That's how you become Edmonton. I also really like Hayes but I just think the ship has sailed. Chytil has looked very good on the wing but if we throw him at C next year maybe he flourishes. That is his natural position and I like his size there. He could be a Kopitar for us. I also try to get Zucc back here on maybe a 3 yr/9m deal. I think he would take it and he may fit nicely with Chytil in the middle. Zucc would be the passer on that line.

So between Zucc, McQuaid and Hayes, and 2 of Vesey, Fast, Namenstikov, I'm hoping for at least 1 first rounder, 2 second rounders, and a STUD right handed dman. I mentioned Trouba and Parayko before. Not sure if either is available, but hopefully someone like that who is young but blocked on his current team, and can can play first pair minutes. Then I sign Panarin.

This would be my team next year:

    Panarin-Zibanejad-Kravstov
    Kreider-Chytil-Zuccarello
    Namenstikov-Howden-Andersson
    Gettinger/Strome/Nieves/Meskanen/1 yr vets

    Skjei-RH Dman trade target
    Lindgren/Hajek-Shattenkirk
    Staal-Pionk

Whoever loses the Lindgren/Hajek battle is the 1 dman for Hartford until Staal can be moved.

Not a chance in hell Namestnikov is on this team. He's gone. You forgot Buchnevich probably because he's a moron. He needs to go big time. Nieves needs to go. His value won't get any higher. Fontaine needs to be our 4th line center for a long time. I've been hard on DeAngelo but Pionk needs to go and he needs to stay. A poster on OTG had a stat on DeAngelo. Team is 18-8 when he's in the lineup. Pretty impressive. I think they trade Zucc, and sign him for 3 more years as a UFA. I agree. I'm all in on Panarin. Staal has to freaking go. Period.

You're right I forgot Buchnevich. He has been so overwhelming. Wouldnt mind Nieves going and also forgot Fontaine. We're aligned there.

The only reason I hesitate on Namenstikov is that, in the scenario above, we're going with Zibanejad-Chytil-Howden down the middle. That is a ton of youth, and not a lot of back-up plan in the case of injury or just youth development struggles. Imagine an injury to Zibanejad if that's our roster? Namenstikov can at least play C whereas Vesey and Fast cannot. I dont think he's a long term answer for us but if Hayes is gone we need some sort of insurance down the middle and I don't see it anywhere else on the roster. Maybe Strome.

I still keep Pionk over Deangelo. Pionk just needs 3rd pair minutes; he's been forced into a role that doesnt fit his game.

Not sure on who is better. Orginally, I was all for Pionk. You are right in that Quinn put too much on him. He was playing 25 minutes a night. For all we know he was playing hurt for a while. Young guys especially aren't going to wanna come out of the lineup when they are trying to establish themselves. I'm all for signing Hayes and keeping him. It's a nice 1-2 punch down the middle at center. Other guys can go instead.

Muzzin to Toronto for a first and 2 of their second second round picks. Only thing I think they do now is look into a Nylander trade at this point.

Wouldn't mind making a trade with Vancouver for Goldobin who seems to be on the block, but i guess we have a similar issue with Buchnevich. Wonder if they'd do Zucc for Goldobin.

Looks like the Wild could be looking our way possibly with Koivu hurt. Namestnikov might be a fit or Zucc and they shift someone to C.

The Wild's farm system freakin sucks. They have absolutely nothing I would want other than Kunin and even he isn't that great. Their Suter and Parise contracts are almost as dumb as Bobby Bonilla's.

The Wild would have to offer a 1st or something like a 2nd plus Greenway. Saw Montreal was looking at Zuccarello too.

Would've taken a 3 day vacation to Vancouver for him.
