I don't know how to explain it. But CJ looked more "facilitating" today. Like he was working harder but with purpose. He stretched his abilities to their limits. With Dame that kind of production is normal but I don't think it's any wonder CJ got a triple double. Which Dame hasn't. If C.J. really does need his own team to become the player he's supposed to... I don't see why we can't facilitate that. Teams know we won't accept anything less than what his trade value is worth. I just don't understand why everything HAS to be Dame/CJ first. We need to win a championship and that the ability to make hard changes.
The sum of the parts does not equal up the the whole when they play together. Good....but not a s good as each of them individually added together. It's just their styles....they are both better when they are in control of the ball. This hasn't changed since the beginning. A game like last night only solidifies that opinion.
We should trade Lillard as it's obvious McCollum is capable of getting triple doubles where as Lillard has yet to get one with many more opportunities. Maximize his trade value now before it's too late.
While I think there's a chance this could be the case, I still think we'd be best served to see what a good coach could do with these two guys before we go making major changes. Personally, I think we need MORE ball-handlers. The fact that CJ and Dame are both "better" with the ball in their hands should NOT be a problem. As we saw in the POs last year, having two ball-handlers is not nearly enough. I am somewhat concerned about their size/defense - but even that wasn't much of an issue last season. Get a better PF or SF and those defensive issues become even smaller. And hopefully that PF/SF can dribble the ball better than our currents. To reiterate - CJ is not the problem. Stotts and Aminu are the main guys holding us back.
Aminu is a solid role player. Where we need to improve is at the small forward position with someone that can dribble, shoot and help facilitate. Layman would be perfect with the second unit as a scorer off the bench. Get a guy like Jaylon Brown and we would be improved immensely. I don't see Prince as being the answer for that.
Agreed. BUT it must be sweet - and it must be for multiple #1 picks and more - Knicks: Kantor (expiring) Knox (young small forward to compliment CJ and Collins) Hardeway Jr. (2) number 1 picks Dame with Porzingas May attract a big free-agent. AND!!! we keep Dame far away from the Lakers.
So Cj is shooting 37.2 percent from 3 now?! Wow he’s been phenomenal and efficient as hell latley. Btw Dame is at 35 percent from 3.. How did Cj leap him with the start he had to the season? Nevertheless amazing turnaround to Cj
Today was back to iso CJ and he went right back to brick J. Stop fucking letting him handle the fukkkking ball!!
