In the most recent "Locked-on Blazers" podcast, Quick claims that if the Blazers don't make the 2nd round this year, at least 2, if not all 3, of the following will happen: Stotts fired Olshey fired CJ traded If you were to predict, which would you go with?
Stotts gets fired before Olshey, although both should happen. Trading CJ just depends on what you’d get back. His contract doesn’t make him attractive.
Neil is the only one on that list who can directly control the fate of another. So I say he fires Terry first then trades CJ. A Neil firing comes from above and if he's gone, everyone else can be assumed gone as well.
If they lose in 4 again, at least Stotts will be gone is my guess. I don't think NO is going anywhere.
We'll probably get stuck with another bad matchup against the Warriors, Rockets, Nuggets, Thunder, Jazz or Lakers.
wouldn't that depend on the other players contract and the other team wanting a change like us? There are some players What if a team wanted to make change with player for the same reason? example Pels Holiday has a similar contract to CJ but a year longer or a Griffin or Hayward? CJ is not the only unattractive contractt out there....
I think you are kind of joking, but I really dislike the bad match up "excuse" that people used with the Pelicans series. Every team at the top of the west has a guy or two who should be a huge matchup problem, the Blazers do too, you're gonna have to beat a team with really good players.
I will immediately watch the GOT final season and forget about basketball until September. Sporadically checking in around draft and free agency/summer league.
None of the above. One third of the roster (Aminu, Curry, Hood, Kanter, Layman) will be gone, but no possitive changes will happen.
Where is the option for 'none of the above, but Blazers will fire a security guard and two ushers'? barfo
If they loose in the 1st round it should tell them 2 small guards can't put them over the top to be a contender. Due Dame is the face of the franchise so CJ must be traded. I will say Stotts too due I think Olshey put Stotts in position to get out of the 1st round by adding Kanter and Hood on the roster. Both of these guys should play a lot due the length and offense skills. Plus Hood can guard bigger 2 guards that CJ can't and Hood can do that that also makes CJ expendable.
I would say it depends on if the team is being sold or not. That seems to be going back ans forth. If the Blazers are selling the team, do they really want to discombobulate things by making those big moves? Seems like that would be left up to the new owner. That said, Stotts contract lasts one more season. Olshey is signed through the 2020-21 season. If it's another sweep, especially with HCA, I would think Stotts at least would have to go. Someone would have to take responsibility right...probably not. Most likely it will be CJ being traded that happens above the other two.
Can I just point out that I think this is an odd time of the season for this poll? I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the season and how Kanter and Hood fit in. On paper, I think they make the Blazers much better and much more likely to avoid a first round exit. We've got 25 regular season games left to see how that works out. Plenty of time to pick at the carcass of the Blazers if they crash and burn the rest of the season or in the playoffs.
Why is it odd? Quick brought it up in his podcast yesterday-- seems like a fair question to bring up here.
