I got hella pride for Gonzaga. Duke is like the Lakers to me. So if we're going to discuss either and especially both in comparison, it's gonna be spirited. Kinda crazy that the top 2 teams in the West are Gonzaga and Nevada. I really want to see a good conference put together of non-power 5 teams that are West of the Mississippi. Gonzaga, Nevada, Wichita State, San Diego State, Saint Mary's, SMU, Creighton, UNLV, BYU, Northern Iowa, New Mexico, New Mexico State... Kinda crazy how much better that conference would be than the Pac-12.
I think Oregon would've come together and been the best team in the Pac-12 (not that, that is saying much), but they got pretty much wrecked by injuries. I agree that Gonzaga and Nevada are probably the best teams in the west. Just the west coast basketball is really, down right now...
Oregon wouldnt have been as good as Gonzaga or Nevada regardless though. King and Richardson were touted as big time additions, but they've both underachieved. Richardson especially. Bol Bol isnt the difference between a 15-10 team in a weak conference and a Top 4 Seed. Hell, they might not have been a top 8 seed even if healthy. Washington still might've been better.
I don't think Oregon would've been better than Gonzaga, but they never had there whole team healthy all at once, so it's hard to say what all those parts together would've done. I don't think any pac12 team is all that scary right now including Washington.
Washington isn't scary, but neither would Oregon have been. It would've been Bol Bol and a bunch of average college players. And Bol Bol isn't a guard that could've controlled the game, and I think he could've been gameplanned for. Oregon would've been on par with Washington IMO. What seed do you think they would've gotten?
Yes, what seed in the tourney do you think Oregon would've gotten if they were healthy all year? Washington is a borderline 7/8 seed right now.
You know it's bad when I'm not 100% certain that's a fake Tweet until I see the Twitter Handle... Sad.
If they were healthy and end up winning the pac12 tourney they could've gotten at the best a 6/7. I guess that's what I was going for. I think that's about the best washington can hope for too.

I'm not going to criticize King's ability from losing any preseason practice and half the season to a major knee injury. Then getting injured again. Bol only played 9 games before his season ended and their were significant injuries or defections to over half the squad. I don't think you can criticize their potential because it never fully gestate in the first place. Bol was the one major focal point in the offense that never even reached conference play. Also the major problem is that Pritchard lost any confidence and won't even show up half the time. He'll have 20 points and 9 assists and the next game take around 3 shots. The whole team is a chicken running around without it's head cut off. But I am not going to make an assessment of what they would have been... because this plane never had a chance to get off the ground in the first place.
King has always been a guy who was more of a raw talent to me and the Ducks (and anyone who drafts him) were better on his potential (what he could be) instead of who he is now. Bol might not have even been the best player in the conference if everyone was healthy. Kevin Porter Jr. would've had a case. If your PG cant maintain his confidence when he's a seasoned Junior, the teams gonna struggle regardless. I just didnt think this team was as good as a lot of Ducks fans thought. Kinda sucks but I'm not complaining. Judt means my secondary college basketball team (Washington) should make the tournament.
I understand you thought they had limitations. And I admit I"ve never fully gauged their long term potenial. But fuck. I never even got to see what they could do. The entire starting lineup never spent one minute on the floor together in real play. A torn knee, a broken jaw, a broken foot, a severally twisted ankle... usually all at the same time. Pritchard's lack of leadership may have hurt the current team but we will never how the offense would have adapted with a healthy squad. The players just got less confident or were able to rely on each anybody. And they just finally lost any cohesion after the Colorado game. You can't go through an entire season not have ANY luck at all. I never saw a team this cursed. It was like, "who's healthy and cognisant enough today?" As for Washington's success, that's not that difficult when even the rest of the conference is dog shit. Hell, the Beavers are respectable this year. The terror of Larry Scott's reign continues as we all sink towards the gutter..
