Joe Wieskamp banks last-second 3-pointer, helps No. 21 Iowa beat Rutgers

Iowa is living by the last-second shot these days.

Joe Wieskamp banked in a 3-pointer from the corner with less than a second to play and the No. 21 Hawkeyes (20-5, 9-5 Big Ten) won their fourth straight game with a miraculous 71-69 win over Rutgers on Saturday.

No. 11 Michigan State dominates late, beats Ohio State 62-44

Michigan State shut down Ohio State in the second half despite an injury to Nick Ward.

Now the Spartans may be without their standout big man for a while.

Ward left in the second half with a broken left hand, but No. 11 Michigan State still rolled to a 62-44 victory over Ohio State on Sunday. The Spartans held the Buckeyes to only 13 points in the second half. Coach Tom Izzo initially said Ward might have dislocated a finger, but the school announced that the 6-foot-9 junior has a hairline fracture.

Davison, Iverson lead No. 22 Wisconsin over Illinois, 64-58

With leading scorer Ethan Happ struggling, Wisconsin coach Greg Gard benched his star down the stretch and looked for someone else to lead the Badgers past Illinois.

Brad Davison and Khalil Iverson answered the call.

Davison scored 18 points, Iverson added 16 and the No. 22 Badgers held off Illinois 64-58 on Monday night with their leading scorer on the bench for the final four minutes.

Fernando's putback lifts No. 24 Maryland over No. 21 Iowa

Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon knew the ball would be in Iowa guard Jordan Bohannon's hands.

The No. 24 Terrapins were ready in the final 7.8 seconds, and they turned the No. 21 Hawkeyes away from a third-straight buzzer beater with a 66-65 victory on Tuesday night.

Haarms' late tip-in sends No. 15 Purdue past Indiana 48-46

Matt Haarms used the cascading boos and profane chants as motivation Tuesday night.

And when he was called for a double-foul in the first half and a technical foul in the second, the scrappy 7-foot-3 center refused to back down.

Instead, he found himself in the perfect spot to make the perfect play with 3.2 seconds left -- a tiebreaking tip-in to give No. 15 Purdue a 48-46 victory at rival Indiana.

Poole has 22 points, No. 7 Michigan beats Minnesota 69-60

If there's a weakness for these Michigan Wolverinesto be worried about, it's lurking behind the 3-point line.

Jordan Poole and Jon Teske swished aside the concern for at least one night.

Poole scored 22 points to lead a long-range shooting spree by seventh-ranked Michigan, and the Wolverines beat Minnesota 69-60 on Thursday to set up a much-anticipated matchup this weekend against rival Michigan State with first place in the Big Ten at stake.

Bohannon, No. 21 Iowa hold off Indiana 76-70

With his teammates struggling to get anything going, Iowa's Jordan Bohannon stepped up and pulled off perhaps the best 15-minutes stretch of his career.

Bohannon hit three 3s in overtime, including one with 20.2 seconds left, and 21st-ranked Iowa rallied to beat Indiana 76-70 in overtime on Friday night for its fifth win in six games.

Cowan scores 19, No. 24 Maryland beats Ohio State 72-62

In a second half defined by three pivotal runs, No. 24 Maryland forged the first and final foray to squeeze out a feel-good victory.

Anthony Cowan Jr. scored 19 points, Bruno Fernando had 14 points and 10 rebounds and the Terrapins beat Ohio State 72-62 Saturday to remain unbeaten at home in the Big Ten.

With Edwards cold, Haarms leads No. 15 Purdue past Huskers

Purdue's Grady Eifert headed toward the basket when he saw Carsen Edwards put up a 3-pointer and the No. 15 Boilermakers leading Nebraska by a point with two minutes left.

Flying across the lane, Eifert grabbed the partially blocked shot with a second on the shot clock and managed to get off one of his two key late shots that pushed Purdue to a 75-72 win Saturday.

No. 10 Michigan State knocks off No. 7 Michigan 77-70

Underestimate Tom Izzo and Michigan State at your peril.

The Spartans are plenty dangerous -- even when they're short-handed and playing on the road against a highly ranked rival.

Cassius Winston had 27 points and eight assists, and 10th-ranked Michigan State moved into sole possession of first place in the Big Ten with a 77-70 victory over No. 7 Michigan on Sunday.

Ohio State beats No. 22 Iowa behind freshman's 29 points

Less than two weeks ago, Ohio State freshman Justin Ahrens didn't even play in a home loss to lowly Illinois.

Had Ahrens not played against Iowa on Tuesday night, the Buckeyes would not have pulled off a potentially season-changing win.

Ahrens had a career-high 29 points and hit 6 of 10 3-pointers as Ohio State rolled to a 90-70 victory over No. 22 Iowa.

Stevens, Penn State have easy time with No. 17 Maryland

Penn State is trying to avoid a last-place finish in the Big Ten, but the Nittany Lions aren't playing like a team that looks like it belongs there right now.

Lamar Stevens scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half, and Penn State had an easy time with No. 17 Maryland in a 78-61 win on Wednesday night.

Edwards scores 23, No. 14 Purdue shakes off Illinois 73-56

As long as Purdue kept winning, Carsen Edwards was adamant that his poor shooting performances didn't matter.

But on Wednesday night, it was clear that an efficient performance from Edwards can elevate the 14th-ranked Boilermakers into consistent winners as March approaches.

Edwards scored 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting after making 7 of his 40 attempts in the previous two games, and Purdue got its fourth straight victory, 73-56 over Illinois.

No. 9 Michigan beats Nebraska 82-53 in home finale

For the first time all season, Michigan needed to change its starting lineup.

The Wolverines didn't miss a beat.

Jon Teske scored a career-high 22 points, and No. 9 Michigan easily rebounded from its loss to Michigan State with an 82-53 victory over Nebraska on Thursday night. The Wolverines were without Charles Matthews, out with a right ankle injury, but Isaiah Livers replaced him in the starting lineup and had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

No. 14 Purdue beats Ohio State, grabs solo lead of Big Ten

Purdue leading scorer Carsen Edwards has struggled from the field in the second half of the Big Ten season, including a recent two-game stretch when he was made 7 of 40 shots.

Edwards has returned to form in the past two games. The junior guard set the tone Saturday by scoring 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting, helping the No. 14 Boilermakers beat Ohio State 86-51 to take sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.

Harper scores 27, Rutgers rolls Iowa 86-72

No. 22 Iowa has likely done enough to lock up an NCAA Tournament spot.

But it's fair to start wondering if the Hawkeyes will be able to do anything once they get there.

Freshman Ron Harper Jr. scored a season-high 27 points and Rutgers rolled past Iowa 86-72 on Saturday in the Hawkeyes' home finale.

Pritzl's hot hand leads Wisconsin past Penn State

As Brevin Prtizl stepped to the foul line with less than 2 seconds left and the game all but won, the chant rained down from the student section: "MVP! MVP!"

    He promptly missed.

It was the only blemish on an otherwise stellar day. Pritzl came off the bench to score 17 points Saturday and lead No. 19 Wisconsin past Penn State 61-57.

Playing with intensity and emotion after being cut down to size in defeat, Michigan used a strong performance from its relentless starting lineup to remain in the hunt for the Big Ten title.

Ignas Brazdeikis scored 21 points, Jon Teske had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and No. 9 Michigan pulled away from 17th-ranked Maryland in a 69-62 victory Sunday.
