The Blazers now have had three different players go off for 20 points or more in a quarter in Jake Layman, Rodney Hood and CJ McCollum. I wonder when the last time that’s happened. Anyone with know how willing to research?
Dunno. Thought CJ also has had at least one other 20-point quarter himself prior to last night. Just wanted to add to our quantity of achievers. I have no idea where one can get data on scoring by quarter.
Thanks for the corrections! Now that we’ve uncovered some more data, it likely makes that feat even more rare.
it's rare but maybe not as rare as you think Dame has done it several times....maybe 8 or 9 times. CJ has done it at least 3 times, maybe 4. Layman and Hood did it. Pretty sure Aldridge has done it a few times. Brandon Roy did it. Martell Webster did it. Andre Miller might have done it when he hit 52. Clyde did it several times. Damon did it at least once scorers are just going to get hot sometimes....get into that rumored "zone" Klay Thompson has the NBA record at 37 IIRC to me, the most amazing individual single stat quarter in Blazer history isn't any of the 20 point quarters....it's Steve Blake getting 14 assists in a quarter. IIRC, that tied an NBA record
I guess my point was that we have had many different players do it in a single season. Feels like having 4 on the same team would be rare.
I can’t imagine it’s that rare for the warriors to do this, they have been stock full of elites talent the last few years.
Whether other teams have done it or not, it's a good thing. To know you have more than TWO guys do it means we have depth on your roster.
I think thats right and their bench is nothing like it used to be, I dont know if anyone on there bench is capable of getting that hot.
