No, I'm going to take it up with the person whom I saw use the expression, Maris. Sorry if you don't like it.

Maybe Maris wouldn't call them what they call themselves. Just saying.

I wouldn't conjecture about Maris if I were you. I'd let him speak for himself.

And yet, here you are in a thread about weight loss, complaining about Maris and politics.

What's wrong? Not enough political threads in the OT for you to visit or something?

LOL, you're not drinking are you? I was responding to this post from Maris:
Venezuelans are literally raving about the Democratic Socialist Diet.
Are things starting to come into focus?

    I don't drink.

He made an off-hand, if not tacky, joke. You could have ignored it and stuck to the subject of the thread itself (which is what I did), or put him on your ignore list.

Instead, you chose to get triggered about it and blow it completely out of proportion. Whose fault is that?

    You fantasize too much.
He made a post using an expression that I disagree with. I made a simple reply about how there was no such thing as a socialist Democrat and somehow I'll presume by the use of some sort of magical wand, you accuse me of getting 'triggered' and getting stuck on a subject that you perpetuate? Wow, just wow.

Take a deep breath and reexamine what you've been saying.

    I'm done with this.

Good. I was beginning to think you'd never stop.

Getting back on the subject at hand.....I just got back from the store tonight (Safeway) with $122 in groceries, and not one soda or item of junk food. That was hard as hell, but not impossible. Instead, I bought probably $60-$80 worth of assorted drinks....everything from sparkling water to healthy teas and iced coffees. My goal is to substitute junk food and sodas for other alternatives. Especially with what I drink during Blazer games. I've GOT to have something to drink during a game.

It's not my end-all to healthier living, but I think it's a good start. Let's see what I like out of this assorted stuff, then work from there.

I've got two half-full 2-liter bottles of soda in the fridge, 2 safeway cookies, and then that's it. I'm going cold turkey when I finish those things up.

I'll write about each drink that I bought tomorrow.....right now, I'm exhausted, and my ankles are killing me. Night fams.

Jumping in to cheer on. But also hopefully throw my hat in the ring. Got a trip with the Mrs to Hawaii in just under 2 months. Original goal was 15 lbs. but thinking at this point 10 might be more realistic. Then a trip to Disney World with the Family in September. Ideally that would be a total loss of 30 lbs by then and I’d be stoked.

I know it’s not all manly and ish but my work offers free weight watchers. And my Brain works better with their point system vs actual calorie count.

I also gotta fight how I used to be in school. I’d get really bad grades, then bust it and see a decent grade, then I’d coast and it would go back down to a C. Weight loss has bene the same way for me which tells me it’s more of a lifestyle thing in how I eat. Gotta quit undoing everything after working hard lol

I quit soda a few years ago and its fantastic. I drink coffee, water, and vitamin water zero’s.
I skipped two days at the Gym this week because after a basketball game on Saturday it felt like my calf was going to fall off, but Ive been back at it. Unfortunately I dont know how much I weigh and I probably wont track it, I honestly think it would just make me really sad, instead of motivate me.

Glad you guys are rocking it!

I stick bottled water in the freezer until it gets slushy and then I leave it in the frig. so I can grab it every once in a while and take a long drink of ice water. Now, couple that with raw vegetables and you've got a weight losing treat.
Another trick is to look at yourself in the mirror. Notice the improvement in your looks as you lose weight.

I definitely won't do a Keto diet. And I definitely won't date a gal on the Keto diet. Ever heard of Keto crotch? The Keto diet makes you stink like a motherfucker!

I love slushy water. I have a glass lemonade pitcher in the fridge full of water from my water cooler, and I use the water from the pitcher to fill my 18 oz double-walled thermos.

The water in the pitcher is almost always frozen to some extent. And with some ice cubes in this thermos, it will stay cold for about 18-24 hours, max. I love it, and I take it with me everywhere I go.

You know, I've got a thermos somewhere. Haven't seen it in over 20 years. I wonder if it survived the move to our new home. I'm going to look for it 'cause you've given me an idea.
We frequent the VA hospital and I'm always thirsty while getting nothing really cold or good tasting at that hospital even their coffee is shitty.

I've got a used one that I've had since about 2010-2011 that you can have. It's the same one as the picture, but it's missing the rubber grip sleeve on the outside. Still works great, but I have a newer one, so it's cleaned and up in my cupboard.

If you want it, send me a PM with your address, and I'll mail it to you. Or I could always drive out and give it to you, if that's easier. Let me know.

You should try having fresh berry (primarily blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries) smoothies without added sugar. Just go with nature's sweetness!

This helped me in the beginning to purge my body of toxins and adjusting my cravings.

When my father went to a no-carb diet, his deserts were berries and whip cream. He loved it.
