Being reported on bleacher report that the yanks will announce a 7 year 70 million extension for hicks....

Smh...i guess 4th outfielders are worth 10 mill a year.

He is a good player but i dont trust that he can stay healthy now..never mind 3 years down the road when he is 32/33 years old

From what I just read that deal is done. Takes him out to age 36 which in my book is a bit long in the tooth. I do like Hicks, he's become a damn good all around player and I too would be concerned with potential health issues. Yankees need to pay their young players like Judge, GT, and Andjar to retain a new core four.

7 Years is too long in my opinion.

If Hicks can stay healthy it's a good deal. It actually starts this season as they got rid of his one remaining year. It's a pretty team friendly deal.

    Breakdown for Hicks: $2M sign. 2019-$6M. 2020-23: $10.5M. 2024-25: $9.5M. 2026 team option $12.5M or $1M buyout.

Agree. Good signing and protects if floral doesn't pan out. If he does you can trade hicks or move him to left and trade frazier and or florial for a starter

this is a bargain of a deal if he keeps up his performance level.

I'm sure you wouldn't include GS on your list until he reaches the playoffs and proves himself.

Old Country song states that "times changes everything". One plays the game and takes their chances. Hicks earned the deal he got now there is concern. Happened to Severino, and to a point CC. I'd bet on Hicks being back before the others. Hicks and several other Yankee Players commented that coming close was not good enough. I don't doubt the players desire & skills but I damn sure doubt the managers ability to make good moves.
