Ive got no beef with swish3, and a lot of the time the premises of his posts I can get on board with (at least to some extent). The posts are hard to read at times as sometimes it comes off as like a weird Meyers Leonard propaganda machine wrote the post.
All said and done I dont dislike ML, I actually think he’s been much better this year (and last year when he played). Cant really blame him for taking the money if NO was handing it out.

Im of the opinion if he had a fresh start with some team out east where he could be a backup center, he could carve out 20minutes a night and be a decent back up. He seems like a pretty good guy, and honestly most of the Blazers seem like good guys.

To win playoffs and a championship...good thread topic...we could win one with a mixture of luck, timing and a serious hot streak at the right time..having a 12 game winning streak in the playoffs would be the obvious next step..I like surprises.

I always assume that many posters don't speak English as a first language and commend them for trying to be so articulate..that mistake has been made around here as well as the mistake that all of us are americans just because we like the Blazers....now not so much.I used to be that guy stumbling along trying to speak Mandarin well and probably sounding like a weird machine myself in another country....walk the walk I say

Thats a fair point, I didnt mean that in the sense of how mechanical the posts are, or how they’re articulated. Just that they come off as like ML is a superstar or something. 99% of my posts are from my phone and I know my grammar and English on here is really bad, I cringe when I read them so I wasnt trying to cast aspersions for the way they speak.

Meyers IS a really good 3 pt shooter ...he just has a slow release...I'm happy he has a fan here...to be one is to invite a lot of snark around here. I used to really dislike his game...now I don't at all.

Yeah, and I give it at times too (the snark).
Its kind of easy to criticise ML. Anyways, you’re right he is a good shooter.

My key points reiterated are that the Blazers need to make enough substitutions to keep hot shooting and fresh legs on the floor, aim for scoring 36+ at the Center position, optimize use of bench talent, and make the best of the different virtues of Nurk, Enes, Meyers, Chief, Mo, Jake, and Zach to optimize swish3 scoring, high % FG scoring, rebounds, passes, spacing, defensive determination, team talk, and team work to win upcoming games. The Blazers still have a good chance at going 14-2 for the last 16 games, winning the Western Conference, and winning the NBA Championship this season!

The LA Clippers game showed the strength of Nurk and Dame bolstered by an excellent game by CJ in the win at Staples Center. However, the weakness of playing Enes in the 2nd half when he was being beaten soundly by Harrell and the failure to include Meyers for 2nd half defense and better scoring points to the need for the 3 Center strategy that I advocate in this thread. In the upcoming New Orleans and Spurs games, Blazer coaches can optimize the probability for wins with Meyers better defending, stronger with more hustle, and enhanced scoring than Enes has shown in his 2nd half play. The formula is Enes to relieve Nurk in the 1st half and Meyers to relieve Nurk in the 2nd half. The new win streak is begun, and the Blazers can be on the way to winning 14 of these last 16 games on the way to the Championship.

Meyers continues to lead the Blazers in these statistics, ORtg 128, 3P% 46.6, TS% 67.3, eFG% 65.0, and Points/FGA 1.47! Remember his achievements in the Jan 30 UTA game, after UTA had beaten us badly twice in December, including his play against Gobert, and you might see why I would include Meyers talent in the 2nd half when Enes is letting down, failing to get rebounds, failing to even put a hand up to defend, and failing to hustle on defense.

For the Championship, we need to optimize the talent, keep Center scoring at 36+, accomplish bench scoring of 36+, and keep consistent determined defense using enough substitutions.

Of the combinations of scoring lineups available, the top 10 include 3 with Meyers who should start as Blazer Center in place of Nurk. The only group of 5 in the top 10 with Zach is with Meyers as Center. Given the excellent win over UTA Jazz on Jan 30, the NBA leading 3P%, 1.47 points/FGA, screening, passing, and hustle that Meyers brings, the game plan for winning in the Playoffs should include starting Meyers who is improving in defense and rim protection and can alternate with Enes for optimized Blazer front court effectiveness. With support of Blazer coaches and what he has learned from Nurk to develop his defense as well as his excellent offense, Meyers will be the Blazer to step up and get the wins on the path to the Western Conference Championship.

It honestly wouldnt surprise me if even with the injurybto Nurk we still dont see ML much. They’ll probably just play smaller with Zach at center.

It was great to see Enes score these, now making him 2 of 9 (22.2%). His strength is at the rim and getting many offensive rebounds, which is what I look for him to do. Let's have Meyers score the 3-6 swish3s per game and keep the Center point production from Meyers and Enes combined over 30 points per game!

This plan would be a waste of the 9-18 swish3 points that Meyers should be scoring per game, and that can mean wins through the Playoffs. Zach belongs at Forward, where he can excel with blocks and defense as he gains finesse, as he and Meyers get more coaching support for effective defense that will bring success. As the last Jazz game showed, we will get a lot out of starting Meyers and enjoying his continuing improvement in his best season of Blazer basketball.

It could be argued thats its a waste. I just think Stotts doesnt really want to play him at this point.

Meyers was 0-3 on swish3’s tonight. Not good.
