How much you wanna bet I can beat you one on one or at 3 pt contest?

If you don’t see how “What the fuck is wrong with you” is a personal insult then you’re simply not even trying to be civil. (By the way, Jones calling me a “hater” is also an insult. For people who complain about the rules so much, you might wanna try following them).

Again, If you wanna complain about me, tell me in DMs. You’re forcing me to spam the thread to defend myself from your insults.

Haha, you'll never actually show up to one of these things.

    Thatd require going outside.

It is objective but I gave comparisons to 4 other Blazers playoff games I've been to. That isn't just me thinking it was loud yesterday, I'm telling you how it compared to past years.

The perceived lull you are referring to is that when the home team gets up early and the lead slowly starts to fade it became more of a nervous energy than an enthusiastic one but that doesn't mean it wasn't loud.

I’ve already conceded I do think it was loud at different points. From yours and other’s accounts, it was likely VERY loud.

I don’t think the energy was sustained or particularly helpful (from my perspective). You seem to be agreeing with this in part. It’s true home teams fans often die down a bit when up, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be true. The warriors are a good example of an arena that is loud practically regardless of circumstance. My entire point is our crowd seemed to let them back in the game in the second and third.

It seems like the truth is probably somewhere in between “it was very loud the whole time” and “it was very loud but the energy wasn’t sustained as much as in many other games.”

P.S. I have no idea why this discussion is controversial.

Yep, we let them back in because the players brought the crowd down. Play the game yourself!

OK dude, it was your presumption that you think it was not loud there with people here are telling you it was. And now you’re trying to twist it around that everybody is all over you. I’m sorry, I’m going to believe the ones who were there versus someone who watched it on TV. Not sure how that is such an issue for you.

Do you not give more credit to those who witnessed things first hand versus those comments on it off of some TV?

Where is your data supporting your argument?

    You have none?
    Then kindly cease.

You saying it sounded quiet on tv doesn't prove shit either.

    Fuck.... lol.

Ps. Because you were telling others who disagree with you they were wrong when its subjective.

    Again. Where is your data?

You have none? Then why are you still talking about this nonsense. Agree to disagree and move on instead of trying to break down an opinion that nobody has a measuring stick for currently??????

Question since we are all having this marvelous discussion on crowd noise. I guess this is directed to people who work behind the scenes. Don't the sound engineers pull out some of the crowd noise for TV ? I dj'd over in Germany for a year and a lot of times I opened for a band at some clubs and they would let me sit in with the sound engineer there. I could adjust the vocals of the band or riffs on guitar solo's and or drum solo's. So am I wrong on that assumption?

Yes, it was loud during the game. Coming home and watching the ABC broadcast on my DVR, the first thing I noticed was how upfront and loud the commentary was, and how much quieter the crowd level was compared to it. Haven't seen another ABC game to compare it to.

You know what would be cool is if the NBA made a competition out of it and had a decibel meter in each arena and posted the highest results during the playoffs. Might encourage all the fans and arenas to get into even more.

Hmm...its amazing that you can state with absolute certainty how people you don't know would respond to hypothetical situations.

These are the kinds of statements that can cause a person to be perceived as arrogant and difficult to converse with.

Unfortunately there are too many damn people in here with not enough to do. All this dude deserves is one pot-shot before moving along. But not this crowd - oh no. Can't possibly lose an internet argument to an obvious troll. The sad thing is, they've lost simply by engaging...but they don't even know it.

Trying to compare arena sound levels by what you hear on different game broadcasts is useless. The announcers use microphones that are close to their mouths so that their voices come through clearly over crowd noise, but there’s always going to be differences in how effective that is based on the exact setup and how the announcers use their equipment. Then there’s the fact that sports broadcasts are mixed for 5.1 digital. How the arena is miked and how the sound is mixed will vary. Then there’s the whole issue of how your home equipment is set up to receive the audio. If you don’t have the correct decoder and if you’re not using a well designed five speaker system that’s properly adjusted, your experience is going to be nothing like reality.

If you want to get a personal take on how loud it is at MODA, buy a ticket.

I think it's somewhat of a distortion to put Dame and CJ in the same too-much-shooting boat

    TS:

    Seth Curry .667
    Al-Farouq Aminu .654
    Damian Lillard .612
    Enes Kanter .567
    Rodney Hood .500
    CJ McCollum .458
    Evan Turner .333

the Blazers as a team averaged 1.21 points/shot. Dame averaged 1.43 points/shot. He was well above the team average so him shooting shots was a Blazer advantage; he had 21 FGA's. CJ averaged 1.0 points/shot, well below the team average and he had 24 FGA's, 3 more than Dame

after the 1st Q, OKC adjusted and took away the easy passing lanes they had allowed in the 1st Q. Portland's offensive motion stalled as a result, which happens often when Dame sits during the first 5-7 minutes of the 2nd Q. Dame was trying to keep people involved when he came back in, but his passing was off and he coughed up some turnovers; I'm guessing that passing can be off just like shooting can be off. But CJ was standard CJ and that meant he was going heavy iso while Dame was tending that way.

I guess the point of that being it's easy to say "Portland went away from what was working", but the opposition had more to do with that than Portland just abandoning their offense, IMO
