Nope. His entire season has been very similar to last year and in fact the whole month of January he averaged 20.5ppg 4rpg 3apg 47% from the field 41% from 3 This month he is averaging 25.7ppg 6.3rpg 3.0apg 46% from the field 44% from 3 why would I want to forget that?
If you're having trouble interpreting, imagine how the German dude to whom it was directed feels. Spoiler I'm guessing it meant "keep your mother f****** mouth shut".
I know everyone wants to keep their head in the sand, but CJ most definitely deserves some appreciation!
Plenty of forum member are like " only the playoffs matter". And what does cj do in the playoffs: outplays league MVPs or candidates for MVPs. No matter what cj does it's not enough for some members . After his performances last two games I would weep if he were traded.
CJ's playing well. And scary thing is that he still has room for improvement. With his handles and vast shooting arsenal, he should be able to draw fouls at a much higher rate than he currently does. Imagine how much more efficient he would be if he were shooting 8 FT a game. However, I am still in favor of trading him. Primarily because I don't think he has any interest in being here long-term. He's locked up through 2021 like Dame, but while Dame will be eligible for a supermax and will almost undoubtedly sign it, CJ won't be, and will likely be a UFA that summer. I'd be in favor of dealing him prior to him reaching that point.
What? I'm in favor of moving him to balance out the roster but I really don't think CJ is the type to leave a good situation. He's actually very similar to Dame in that regard (loyalty). And I'm sure the Blazers will still pay him the most they can or at least super close to it.
Maybe he is, but that's not the vibe I've ever gotten from him. I've always seen him as someone who wants the limelight, wants the big city, wants the connections. I just have a feeling that he's going to gravitate toward a bigger market with an eye toward furthering his media presence. I very well could be way off here, but that's what I see.
That's a completely different take on CJ than I have on him. I think he and Dame really like playing together and relish the chance to shove this whole "they're too similar and defensively deficient to win with" notion down the league's throat.
You can bet your stake that OKC fans would love to have a shooter like CJ. They can't shoot (other than PG).
TBH I can think of a lot of current playoff teams, Thunder included who would absolutely kill to have a player like CJ on their teams right now, but none of them have the assets worthy of him at the moment (assuming the Thunder don’t feel like gifting us PG lol)
I really like CJ, and while I would (still) be ok with him being moved for the right pieces its never been because I think he’s bad or terrible, or whatever, I just think he’s their best asset not named Dame that could im tandem with some other things bring back someone who maybe fit better. For the record he’s been lights out so far in the playoffs! Hope he keeps balling and I wouldnt at all mind if he was a Blazer his whole career!
What has been his biggest change since coming back from injury? Seeing the team win so much while he was out worried him?
Nice job out there CJ. I hope @ThePosterFormerlyKnownAsTheHCP finds time to let him read this thread. CJ has been money this series.
Sure, if you ignore the fact he's been our best player in the playoffs going back to the Memphis series.
