He will hack them across both arm and McHale will say what a great block by Jokic.

Didn't know Tunchi was a Nuggets fan.

Make even less sense that he keeps coming back

    couldn't agree more

it's hard to be objective and unbiased and unemotional during and right after a game. And it's absolutely true that fans of all teams, including the Blazers, will over-focus on officiating at the expense of other important factors. I've been guilty of that myself

I think we all probably got a little ahead of reality after the OKC series. If it wasn't for a game 5 near-miraculous 4th Q comeback capped off with the shot of the century, that series could have easily gone 7 games and then, anything could have happened. OKC could have won. The 4-1 record in that series is probably a little misleading, especially considering the unsustainable level Dame was playing at

and the fact is, Denver is a much better constructed team than OKC in terms of mesh and depth. Portland has no big advantage over Denver at any position. They are evenly matched teams and Denver had, and has, HCA. Portland being 2-2 after 4 games is not a failure, even though it felt like it 14 hours ago.

scapegoating Lillard is absolutely loony. Denver is much better equipped to defend Dame than OKC was. The Craig-Harris-Beasely combo is excellent perimeter defense all game long, and with Jokic and Millsap, Denver is much better at doubling and hedging screens and picks then OKC was with Adams. People expecting Dame to continue to be the 34 point a game scorer on 65% TS he was against OKC are holding Dame to an impossible standard. Dame is a great player and an excellent leader, but he's not the level of player that a Lebron or a KD have been.

and the thing about 3 point shooting is that no player consistently hits their average, game after game after game. They will get hot for 5 or 10 or 15 games...then they go cold for 5 or 10 games. That includes the great 3 point shooters. Do people understand how loopy it is to want Dame to continue to shoot 46% on three's when he's a career 37% shooter?

the series isn't over yet. There will be a 6th game in Portland. The odds are in Denver's favor, but the odds were in their favor after game 1 and Portland did ok in game 2

I agree with that but so far in the series he is 7-18 though. he has been shooting the 3 pretty good. 38.8% . He made a couple when they counted. You got to live with that. Now his overall FG % is not good at all 16-46 34.7%
Barton is the guy you want taking that shot instead of Murray or Jokic in that position.

Well every other point he has made has been wrong so why not that one? I mean elevation only effects breathing. Who needs to do that?

    Things for the next game.....

    1. Do not play Turner. Whenever he hits the floor, our lead ghosts.

    2. Rebound. Holy shit. Collins n Meyers suck at rebounding when it's physical in the middle, so it's the extra effort from moe Rodney chief n the guards that is needed

    3. Good timeouts and good timely subs, not momentum killing ones.

    4. Belief. We can do this!

If we had Nurk it be different story in this series. It would a different rotation by Stotts. Kanter more likely wouldn't got hurt against OKC so we would have to strong centers to go at Jokic. Zach would backing up Aminu and maybe Millsap would have more problems shooting over Zach. I still we can win this series it going be hard.

Part of that hypothesis might still come to pass. The Blazers had a week off before this series started. Both teams were at elevation essentially the same amount of time and have traveled together. The "elevation" part of home court might not be as pronounced.
At some point the Nuggets might tire out here and the Blazers might take control of this series. Possibly 3 more games to go.

Strangely, in the 2 games the Blazers lost in the series, they won the fourth quarter. In the two games they won in the series, the lost in the fourth quarter.

Blazers need to control their turnovers. 6+ more turnovers last night is the difference in the game. 6 extra possessions for the nuggets. Friday night Denver had a +7 in turnovers. Win the turnover battle win the game.

So the fourth quarter performance is largely irrelevant towards the final game result.

    Much like our regular season

We’ll never know cuz Stotts won’t try anything new. SMH. Jokic is literally as slow as molasses yet the Blazers aren’t putting him in any situations to expose his weakest attribute (his complete and utter lack of footspeed). If Stotts tried what you suggest he just might be surprised by the result.

They are trying but Gary Harris does an excellent job at fighting through screens. Or they shade over a second defender. In game 4 a few of the times Dame got open they called Zach for an offensive foul.

It's definitely not due to lack of trying.

Collins is only adequate at setting screens. Kanter is good, but not great.

Best screen setters we have are Nurk & Meyers. Put Meyers in there to run P&R for 5 minutes and see what happens.
