There were times when we struggled over the past couple years that i was on the trade CJ bandwagon. I realise now that those impulses were short sighted and flat out wrong. It would have been impossible to get equal value in return for him then or now. I'm glad that the people making these decisions for us don't listen to the bitching and moaning of fans who don't look at things long term and big picture.
I really dislike this kind of thread. Should we apologize for all the good things we have said about Dame since he had a "difficult" series?
I still think CJ is overrated and overpaid, but man, did he play in the Denver series??? He showed up big time, when needed. Are we to forget Evan "Turnover" too, since he had an ok Game 6 and a solid Game 7?
Is it just me, or has cj been much better st getting to the rim lately? That could open his mid range game
apparently you are also dyslexic as something seems to be backwards, lol. Just joking lanny. Great win yesterday.
Yeah he has done a really good job of taking advantage of the opposing team center's weakness. Both Adams and Jokic are huge, but neither is what I would consider great rim protectors. CJ is so deceptive with his change of speed. Loved seeing him dunk last night on the one drive in traffic.
I'd say it's probably the result of game film and I honestly think CJ is taller now than when we drafted him...he's clearly taller than Dame side by side now and they used to be really close in height.
This is why I kept saying you don't trade CJ for anything less than a bonafide star. There were people here who wanted to trade CJ for capspace-- you all know who you are. In the playoffs, you need guys who can get shots one on one. CJ can get a good look on anybody. Teams can take out Dame with double teams and size, but having CJ there is an unbelievable luxury.
CJ is my 4 year old grandson's favorite player so that's good enough for me. He also knows all the players names and their numbers. Can't wait for when he is old enough to start playing as his dad is a pretty good player and his grandpa could hold his own in his day, lol.
CJ showed me some stuff yesterday that I hadn't seen before. That ferocious drive and dunk really caught me by surprise. The fact that he did everything he did while taking just three shots from 3 really impressed me as well. He had that interview a couple weeks ago where he said he was a killer, and had always been a killer. Some scoffed at that at the time; I think he's proven that sentiment correct.
Butler has been really good in the playoffs too. I'm coming around to Jimmy again. He might be an asshole, but he's a gamer-- he'd be amazing in an environment with good chemistry.
