Andersson was light years better than Chytil the last 10 games and his skills were on display. If you watched closely, the game slowed down for him. He was getting at least one high quality shot or setting up a high quality shot. The points didn't come but he is far ahead of Chytil now. He would have had more points if he was playing with some vets. Chytil has absolutely no defensive game to speak of. He is awful on faceoffs. Last 11 games Andersson was even. Last 10 games Chytil was a -8. If Chytil does nothing offensively, he's useless at this point. I would not be surprised to see Chytil start the season in the AHL unless he has a very good pre-season. I expect Andersson to come in raging this pre-season unlike like year where he took it for granted.

Chytil showed he's lazy. He was being benched a lot the second half by Quinn. He lacks intangibles to his game. Personally, I would put him in a deal with Pionk and perhaps Fast along with the 20th overall and see if I could get up to 3 or 4. I'm pretty sure the Av's are game. They are built to win now. Not sure about Chicago. I mean, they should rebuild but I don't know if they will.

With Andersson is going to be about whether he can become fluid enough to create plays and be good positionally. I'd be happy if he just becomes a solid 3rd line type and carves a niche there. I think Chytil will come in this year motivated to show he's learned from his first full year and could see him putting up 20g.

Chytil could go either way. He has a great shot. You could see that. However, his work ethic sucked a lot last year. He's very young but I'd still package him if it game me a chance at Cozens or Dach. If you told me this year that the Av's would have say, Fast, Vesey and Pionk on there team, they beat the Sharks and probably would go to the finals. They just don't have good role players. 20th, Fast, Vesey and Pionk for the 4th. Win for both teams IMO. Fast and Vesey would flourish on the AV's where they could just focus on their role. Pionk was good until he got hurt and played WAY too many minutes. He doesn't make sense here with Fox and DeAngelo. A hunch but I'm buying into the Fox hype.

Yeah the Avs are very soft and top heavy right now. Fast would be a nice pickup for their 4th line for 2y.

The Knicks, such a Knicks. Getting into the top 3 was fortunate for them at that point. Barrett or Morant will be solid players, or maybe they use it for Davis.

Davis is a dickhead. No interest. Zion will not have a long career. He's already too heavy. For me it was either Morant or Barrett that made the most sense. If they bring in Irving and Durant, Barrett makes perfect sense. The Knicks have Knox at SF going forward, Robinson at center. KD would be PF, Irving PG so they have needed a SG in the worst way forever. I was hoping they would not get the first pick. Then you have guys like Smith, Dotson, Trier and perhaps Vonleh coming off the bench.

Yeah, they should just keep building through the draft and add those FA. I always thought Barrett would be a great pro but we'll see. Needs to work on his shooting %. Knox will be a 20 pt guy every year.

With an 86% chance they wouldn't get the # 1 pick, I always said please be top 3 so we could get 1 of the 3 standout players who have separated from the rest, and that happened. I am fine with that. The Cavs, Suns and Bulls all fell to 5 or worse, so it could have been worse. Barrett was # 1 last year at this time. Morant looks special. Getting one of the two is a good thing. I would expect Barrett, but we'll see.

I'm already hearing this crap of trading for Davis. God know. I pray the Lakers are dumb enough now to make that deal.

Didn't see the 2nd one but the first one was a highlight goal.

The 2nd one turned out to be an assist as it was deflected.

I could care less about this tournament. It's useless. What I care about is Gorton dumping players like Staal, Shattenkirk and Smith. The three S's have to go.

I think Smith will be gone by Sept. If they eat some salary on Shattenkirk i think he could bring back a 2nd and prospect at the DL. They may have to live with Staal one more year.

I would be ecstatic if they could use Shattenkirk some retained to move up in the first round or get any decent pick for him.

Smith will get bought out. The other two I would say are back at this point barring a trade opening up where we retain some cap hit.

Gorton needs to stop dragging his ass with the defense rebuild. Hajek and Lindgren need to play all season on the left side. Defense should be

    Skjei-Fox
    Lindgren-DeAngelo
    Hajek-Pionk

If Pionk isn't dealt which he might be to move up.

Rykov signed for 2y with a KHL opt-out.

JD on board can only help with the draft, he did a great job with personnel in St. Louis and Columbus. Need to start cleaning out the rest of the dead wood on this roster. As far as Andersson is concerned, he'll never be light years better than Chytil, Filip is bigger, better puck handler and much better skater despite being a year younger. He drove around seasoned vets all year with a passing gear that can't be learned but he needs to finish better. I like Andersson but he plays a different game, he's the grinder that wins puck battles against the boards or in front of the net and is a more physical player but the dumb penalties have to stop.

You are beyond blind on Chytil. He has so many deficiencies to his game it's mind boggling. He has few intangibles and almost no toughness.
