When Zach and Nurk team up next year they will be the "Get that shit out of here brothers" can you imagine averaging 7 to 8 blocks a game from those 2? #drool
Will it really be an improvement though? Like he said, different matchups. Our starting five has played gsw very well this year. You dont just toss in the towel because of one bad matchup. like it was said, aminu and hark would probably check out and if we are to win, we need them to contribute. If we are gonna win it all this year, its with the help of those two. The changes will happen to start next year.
As I recall, Clay starts it, Zach gives it back and walks away, Clay escalates, of course Zach gets a tech, then the Whoriers start throwing out 'retaliatory' cheap shot bullshit around the basket that barely goes punished, Blazers don't back down, so the Whorier bench goes ballistic as if the Blazers were the instigators. Am I remembering that right?
I mean they literally did it to start the second half yesterday. In a game 7. I don’t think it’s out of the question. The thing is we’ll need Aminu vs the Warriors more than we needed him against Denver, especially once KD is back.
I was advocating for a change to the starting lineup a couple of months ago, but I think maybe you are right for this series. I think Zach is needed to play back up center against the Warriors. I am not sure I want him to start and get in foul trouble. Maybe wait until later in the game to play both he and Kanter together. What I want is for Hood to be healthy enough to start at SF while Terry rotates Aminu and Harkless at PF. At least while Durant is out. We need the extra shooter.
Im not sold on hoods help and lateral defense being good enough( is anyones?) to guard curry and especially Clay on the perimeter. Id stick with the starting lineup and make a quick sub if hark cant hang. But if hark cant hang on d, we are gonna be in trouble. When he is engaged he is our best defender i think.
I started to write essentially this. Left to make dinner. Now I'm just gonna like your comment instead!
Klay has a quick release and runs off screens well, but is he that quick where lateral quickness is a priority to cover him?
Im not speculating as to if it would be or wouldnt be. Simply saying he shoupd do whatever would improve the team, even if its a startimg lineup change.
It's not a bad narrative. And critical thinking would agree with you. If you are Spock. But this is a team with humans and humanoid emotions. They made it to the WCF's starting Aminu and Harkless. They made in game adjustments as the games went on. Seriously bones would you really think that a team that is as tight as the Blazers right now would want something like that to happen? Aminu played a total of 7 minutes in game 7. Stotts knows he was not the right guy on the floor for that game but he is a starter and playing him as a starter has been what has happened all season long. You just don't make that change at this point of the season. here is another thing Aminu got 4 wide open looks from 3 in that 7 mins. On two of them he deferred and tried to drive to the basket. on 2 he took the long ball. These were WIDE OPEN looks. If Aminu was hitting those shots the Nuggets are in big trouble early. Aminu was tentative and was unsure of his shooting. He got YANKED! The Warriors are a completely different team. Aminu might be the very piece they need? Who knows right now? On a side note and an even bigger thing- Everyone is talking about Kanter not being able to eat or drink. Neither can Aminu. I don't care what anyone says or who's god they want to follow. When you cant eat or drink during, or for 14 hours before the game like we are gonna see on every 6 pm start this series there is a problem. Sunset tonight is 8:32 pm. It is only gonna get worse and later as the week goes on. Do not expect Aminu to shoot well this series. Point is i agree with you that they should do it. But i understand why they won't do it.
They need to cheat. No one needs to know but them and their God, but it is unhealthy to fast and then exert that much energy. I am sure their god will understand if they drink a little water. Totally absurd not to. But hey that's me. I could never make it through lent without a little meat on Fridays.
GMs of teams with playoff aspirations should be taking that into account when it comes to the draft and free agency.
I don't think they will. The way it is thought about is that it would be selling your soul to the devil for material gain. A true Muslim would not do that. Might as well eat a pork chop.
As much as I like playing the victim, it was a double T on Zach and Klay, and then their "cheap shot bullshit" didn't "barely go punished" since they got hit with a flagrant and 3 techs, effectively putting the game away
