    What is this bullshit?

No cap space whatsoever, unless we do a sign-and-trade...

I want a power forward. I think we're going to need Collins to play center until Nurk gets back.

I actually wouldn't mind Butler. A super physical athlete who isn't afraid of the moment is exactly what we need. I think Dame can handle him potentially becoming a distraction.

But this isn't really possible given our lack of any assets or space.

Would love it if Jimmy could be our starting SF. Saying that, I don't see how it would be possible. I think trading expirings for a guy like Blake Griffin seems more plausible which would still be awesome.

Would be nice but like everyone else is saying, not sure how this is possible at all. These contracts of turners leonard really suck.

    1) Would require a sign-and trade.

    2) There would be complications with the Blazers salary cap in order to pull off that sign-and-trade.

    3) Even if said sign-and-trade was able to be figured out financially by the Blazers what the heck would Philly want back to make it worth it for them? The only player that would make sense from their perspective is possibly CJ. Dame's not going to recruit someone who would require trading CJ to get. Philly is trying to win a championship too. They aren't going to accept draft picks and expiring contracts for Butler when they could just let him walk and sign someone else with the cap space it would open up for them.

So even if Dame successfully recruited Butler to play here, the Blazers fixed their cap issues, and Philly was willing to entertain the idea then how would it work? I guess we'd have to find a 3rd team with a star that would actually be interested in expirings and picks.

The only way it can happen is if Philly is okay with taking back a couple of their rejects in Turner and Harkless, we would probably have to include Simons too. I don’t wanna trade Simons as I think he is gonna take over Seth’s role next season.

I think the guys we need to go after are Aldridge or Love.

I think we have the assets if Butler tells Philly he is leaving. If I am I Philly I would take Simons, Zach and a first rounder plus ending contracts. Not saying I would offer that if I am Portland, just that we have the assets. I would however offer that for AD though.

The only thing I'd say about this is the entire Portland roster is cut from the same cloth as butler.
So Butler wouldn't be the player he was in Minn here as Portland doesn't have players who think they deserve what they have.
Rather Portland has players who have fought and earned everything they have.
