Stotts just gave one of the worst answers I’ve ever heard in a postgame.

I don't think the issue is he can't it's he doesn't want to. If Terry wins he wants it to be his way so he can say 'see, my methods work'.

    There
    is your problem.

The OP was about the defensive scheme. The thread was about the defensive scheme. My answer to your contextless question was in regard to the defensive scheme.

Why are you talking about lineup changes instead of the defensive scheme?

OB, if GS beats us then fine. No one thinks they can just be shut down by playing a different defense. But how can you not even attempt to make a three point shooting team take tougher threes? They'll still make a ton of them but at least we would make them work a little harder and maybe get them more tired in the process so their defense suffers a little.

When the opposing team is laughing after the game about how easy it was do you think that's acceptable? When the announcers say in the first quarter that the defense has to change immediately and in the 4th quarter they are still amazed that we aren't changing it, is that okay to you?

Curry shoots more difficult shots in warmups than he did last night. That is a problem.

This isn't about winning the series after last night; its about not getting swept

Because that is what most everyone in several threads has been complaining about from last series into this. I dont have the time at the moment to search and quote all of them. Im sure you have seen them.

No one has explained the adjustments to be made clearly, at the time I had posted, so I went based off what everyone has been saying the last few days.

The adjustments people have said they wanted was to replace Aminu and Harkless with Collins and Hood.

    Am I wrong?

Not at all. Two different discussions. So again . What adjustments can Stotts make that will work? So far in most threads, the only clear answer I have seen most give is to change the lineup.

I may have missed some posts though....

Yes, you're wrong. This thread in which you posted was specifically in regard to Stotts' postgame comments in response to a question about how we defended Curry. Many posts in this thread reiterated the many-years-long refrain that this team needs to change our PnR defense. As such, my comments were in regard to the same.

Shit. Sorry . I thought I was commenting in the other thread about stotts.. laying off him . Thats where most of the comments I believe are about swapping the starting lineup.

And make so many turnovers that translate around 30 points. That might bigger negative then what Curry and Thompson did in the game.

Read this thread again. The answer is ANY FUCKING ADJUSTMENT IS BETTER THAN GIVING CURRY AND THOMPSON OPEN THREES.

We didn't even hedge a pick or trap a pick. Every fucking time the guard died on the pick and the big sagged back too far giving them clean open looks.

I don't even get how you are arguing when you obviously aren't reading the posts.

Edit: You clarified your confusion while I was typing.

More likely Stotts gets a extension due to we have reach this far with injured players. I don't see a new coach anytime soon.

Anybody else feel like there is some cognitive dissonance here? Stotts refuses to use the trap against somebody like Curry and implies it is ineffective. Somebody uses the trap against Dame, and it becomes the invincible defense he has no counter for. WTF?

To be fair, we have like four different Stotts threads going.

Bullshit. I never had these negative responses when we lost 3 games to the youngest team in the league.

And this response is an enabler to Terry's horrible defensive scheme.

Stop stymieing people's ability to vent over the SAME defensive scheme that got us SWEPT outta the playoffs the last 2 years.

    It doesn't work.

Terry has always been the king of cognitive dissonance. He started out his Blazers career building the offense around long two-point shots (from a very mediocre shooter). Meanwhile, he designed his defense to give up...long two-point shots!

I've been hammering on this, literally, since his first season here. The dude is not a good coach.
