Watch the games man. It happens on most possessions. I absolutely did NOT make this up. Ball comes across half-court at the 17 second mark on most possessions.

Really? I haven't missed a game since Brandon Roy's rookie year.

    Stop. It's completely untrue.

WASNT THIS THE SAME FUCKKNG PROBLEM AGAINST THE PELICANS??

Around the middle of the season or whenever we were struggling I pivoted from shitting on Olshey all the time to wondering if maybe the real problem was Stotts. I mean, I was never a huge Stotts fan, but I didn’t really think he was the primary person to blame either.

Sucks that it’s being validated. I’d rather be completely wrong. This isn’t fun man. These are such basic concepts and adjustments and our coach is evidently too stubborn (or stupid?) to make them. Tomorrow’s game is huge. Let’s see if anything changes. Not optimistic.

I think it’s comical that they evidently have to “look at the tape” to figure out the problem. If idiots like myself can see the problem as it’s happening live, surely a coach with decades of experience should as well, no? I mean, it’s literally his job?

Obviously whatever we were doing didn't work. But Stotts is correct that Steph just scored 33 IN A HALF against traps. You can call him defensive, he was, but he still had a good point. With Durant out, Steph is just going to be very hard to contain no matter what we do, but I hope we try a different approach in game 2. I'm going to do something crazy - I'm going to actually wait for game 2 to happen before criticizing him for not making adjustments in game 2.

I'm amazed at the anger that's come from this. We had just had an emotional game 7 48 hours earlier, had to travel and didn't practice and now go into Oracle to face the two-time defending champions who are heavily favored. Considering how AWFUL we were offensively, I don't think it's a stretch to say that our defense was equally awful and the majority of that blame needs to go on the players. I don't think we'll continue to shoot 36% and commit 21 turnovers every game. By halftime I had already counted ten points lost on easy lay-ins. Ten points! Lay-ins! Then we've got Damian running around, jumping in the air and throwing wild passes to GS. It was just a bad performance by everyone involved, and truthfully given the circumstances it was a bit predictable. Lets just hope they got it out of their system, make changes and get game 2.

But this bi-polar treatment of Stotts after every game is comical. Smoke some weed, meditate, whatever, but relax. It's one game, we lost the first against Denver too. The goal is still to steal one of these first two.

To be fair, Portland has one of the slowest paces in the league for a reason. Dame seemingly doesn't want to push the tempo. He does walk the ball up the court very often and slows it down many times when the Blazers have an advantage. Don't know about the '17-second' thing but with how 'young' the Blazers have been for years, to not take advantage of those young legs more often does seem to be missed opportunities.

i gotta say, i do see a lot of times people bringing up the ball, mostly dame, where i find myself wondering why he doesnt westbrook the acceleration n get to the hoop.

we dont really 'attack' the other team, we pass a lot and have a ton of great spacing etc but outside of CJ we dont have many willing to just get in there. layman maybe, he's always looking for paths to the hoop but just never gets minutes.

it'd just be nice to think we had some other options when the mid range and deep shots arent working out.

We used to. I remember them talking about getting into the lane before the defense could set up. But, that was a long time ago

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Until he checks the tape, he can't be sure the Blazers aren't still up against Russell Westbrook. He's playing the exact same coverage on Curry as Westbrook.

I love type of posts. Ignore everything and chalk them up as flukes but focus on the negatives as “real”

Except it's not. You delete the games from your DVR? Before calling me a liar go watch and see how many times Dame cross the line at 17 seconds. It's a lot.

i think its the only way dame will get the superstar calls but really pushing things, initiating offense at pace, initiating contact n pretty taking the challenge to the other team.

my god we really miss having a slasher.

Like ignoring where I gave them Props....and then more Props? Also, not one time is there a reference to the wins being flukes. #FakeNews
