Ok, Dame was playing hurt... that excuse still doesnt make up for the entire team playing two back to back games of playing well in the first half (even with Dames poor play) and then completely folding in the second half...it seems the timing of the release of this info could be deflecting a much bigger problem... such as coaching/leadership
Fatigue. again . Fumes. It leads to slower reaction time, but also poor decision making. It leads to short FT's thus shooting a lower percentage. All the signs are there showing wee are completely empty and all beat up.
Oh please. Nobody who follows pro sports should be naive enough to blindly trust a conveniently timed leak to the media. I'm sure KD is hurt - that doesn't mean I trust the PR spin coming out of the Warrior front office about the subject. The same is true of Dame, Kanter, and Nurk and the Blazer front office.
Nope...why were they ALL playing so well for the first 2 and 1/2 quarters then all of a sudden they ALL play like they have no idea what they are doing or where they are suppose to be?..... mentally soft...and that starts with coaching with inexperience of playing big games deep into the playoffs
Like I said I dont think it is all of it, but Im pretty sure its part of it. They go to the locker room and cool down and just cant get clear and snappy again and the fog sets in. We will just have to agree to disagree. I think its multiple factors coming into play as to why they hit a wall in the second half and I think Mental fatigue is one of them. The mind is just like a muscle. IT hits long term wear out just like short term. Meaning. No one or two days off is going to clear the head for another stretch of games. Its going to clear it for a bit, but as you get into action, it hits a wall just like the rest of the body does.
I know the difference between mental fatigue and physical fatigue... Im sure we can "agree to disagree" but you're all over the place with your responses ... it boils down to this team is mentally soft...period!
No dude. You are. you keep misquoting me. Im saying the difference between mentally fatigue and mentally weak. you keep bringing in this physical stuff. if i'm all over the place (Ive only made two or three posts about mentally weak vs mentally fatigued) Then use the quote option to list what you are talking about before you just accuse someone of being all over the place....Or it just makes your posts seem all over the place. Now since you are obviously confused, since you said i'm all over the place, in your opinion... Ill be as clear as possible. The team is mentally tough . Dame is as mentally tough as it gets in the NBA, in my opinion. He has elite killer instincts. He is also physically tough because he plays through injuries all the time. However, the Denver series was as mentally draining of a series you will ever have in the NBA. And that's coming off of an extremely emotional win over OKC that can also drain you mentally with the head games Westbrick loves to try to play. So now, the team, and especially the leader, Dame, is mentally drained. They are also physically drained because of the same long Denver series and many injuries. Mentally weak would mean they would have folded to Denver. Mentally fatigued means they didn't but just hit their wall and are now in a fog. Its not for lack of confidence, being mentally weak, its for being exhausted. Mentally fatigued. Mentally weak to me means you fold all the time. Mentally fatigued means you don't fold, but just cant perform anymore, but the want and will is still there. You may disagree, but I think that clears up any confusion you may have on what i'm saying?
Wtf?...Where did i say anything about "physical stuff"?... again, this team is mentally SOFT..., its not because they played hard against okc or the nuggets, its cause they dont know how to take their game to a championship level... and if you cant understand that then im done here... have a nice day
This team isn't soft....it just has no answer for Draymond Green when they make a run. We're basically competing against team USA in the WCF..I'd cut the guys some slack
My concern with Nurk is that we will get the Oden treatment. (IE sunshine, rainbows, unicorns...oh, did we mention he will miss all of next season....and the season after)
Maybe soft isnt the right word, but the 2nd half collapses and looking totally flustered seems mental to me. I dont mean to crap on Dame, or the team or Stotts, or the success theyve had this year, but man it looks like GS starts to play well and the Blazers just implode...
Golden State is beasting in 3rd qtrs.....they always have....that's not us imploding, that's them taking over a game. We got beat solidly, not because we imploded....but because we couldn't make a shot or control the boards...their offensive rebounds killed us all night.
Isnt all of a sudden not being able to make wide open shots imploding though? All of a sudden easy shots they cant make, then they start having careless turnovers. I mean you dont give up those leads without playing into GS’s hands a lot. we can call it something else, but GS’s playing really good in those stretches but the Blazers sure arent doing anything to stop it...
