Well, Do they think they have anything with Skal? If they do I'd rather develop him than bring on someone. I think their main need is forwards.
Zach / Meyers and Scal aren't exactly my ideal centers but they could probably suffice for a while... Can they keep Hood and start him at the 3?
If were talking back up bigs, Jonas does fit the cheap tag, so I guess there's that.

As much as I'd like to see a massive PF upgrade like Griffin, I also would like to see what we have in Collins and Skal. Not necessarily mutually exclusive, I know...

    Blake over Kevin. Easy choice.

Would you trade Zach as the primary piece for Blake?

No. I think whenever it clicks for Zach, its going to click in a big way. And he's so young.

Their contracts are just too enormous.

It was a big gamble taken by Stan Van Gundy to turn the Pistons into a contender that did not come close to working because Drummond has plateaued/regressed and Reggie Jackson is their best playmaker. They cannot run it back and realistically hope for better results than another first round exit at best. If they're smart, they should move him to shed the long, big contract and acquire young pieces.

I've been completely on board with not getting Griffin.

Especially if it costs us Zach Collins.

    Both are injury prone.

and if they do, I would expect it to cost a pretty penny along with having to carry his 35 mil contract. They might decide to dump Drummond and build around Griffin as athleticism is becoming more of the norm with many teams using small ball lineups.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I would. Collins has potential, but I don't see future star in him. This forum has been talking about how badly Lillard needs his own Draymond Green in the short roll after a screen? Griffin is that guy, at least among potentially attainable players. Griffin is a talented play-maker and passer, he'd make an incredible pick-and-roll partner. Plus he can shoot. He's more well-rounded than Green on offense, but obviously not nearly as good as Green on defense.

If you want this core to succeed, within Lillard's prime, they need to take a chance on a talented player who fits as well as Griffin does and hope injuries don't happen at the worst time.

100% agreed. Verbatim what I said on the previous page. I think it's a no-brainer if Detroit wants to shed salary. Blake is a massive risk, but one worth taking to get this team to a higher level.

Unless someone has some inside info on what Pistons would consider it's all a moot point. Do you how many players I have seen discussed in this forum to the point of you would think the player was actually on the team and nothing ever happens. I put the Blake Griffin possibility in the pipe dream category, but then again, you never know but I just don't see it happening

Yeah exactly! Why would anyone assume that a team that went 41-41, barely made the playoffs in the East on the last day, and got destroyed in the playoffs be interested in trading any of their players?

After watching this series, I don't think anyone can deny that having the ability to run our offense through Griffin in the high post would take an immense amount of pressure off of our guards. We might be up 3-0 in this series if we had Griffin.

That being said, I do understand the injury concern. If he isn't available to play it doesn't help us.

Look hoopsjock, why are you always trying to start something with me. Let's discuss basketball and save the sniping. Please show me where I said they weren't interested in trading ANY of their players. In fact, in one of my posts I stated that I felt they would possibly be more interested in dealing Drummond. I await your link to my post where I stated what you are claiming.

So absolutely don't talk about it. Don't discuss it. However real or unreal it is. It doesn't fit some peoples reality, so you better not discuss it!!!

Since I find this to be a moot point, everyone should discuss something else!!!!
