GS was missing KD, Cousins and Iggy in the last game.

The .357 is for Stotts' career. If you look at what they have done against GS like what LeBron did, it is a ghastly .077.

That is NOT worthy of bringing back over and over for the same result.

I didn't expect to beat the Warriors....but where is the growth? We haven't won a game against them in the Playoffs since the 15-16 season. And in this Game 4, they were without 2 starters. The Clippers won 2 games as the #8 seed.

Didn't expect a series win...but expected improvement and not the same thing I saw 2-3 years ago.

I think the growth will come with Nurk being healthy and Collins at the 4. I also believe Leonard should and will be given minutes next year.

Above all, it is up to the man wearing the letter O to decide we cannot win with Stotts as coach. He knows more than anyone on this forum about basketball. Until then, I support Stotts.

Sometimes you have to lose a couple games in the regular season so you can be a better team for the playoffs.

You have 4 cars. A prius, a pickup, a lexus and a Lamborghini. The lexus is in the bodyshop and the Lambo broke down.

You need to go to Costco and want to buy the biggest tv they have.

Stotts would take the frigging Prius because it gets better mileage and he already drives it all the time.

Then he'll strap the tv on the roof and hit the highway where it falls off and causes an accident. He'll tell the cops he HAD to strap it to the roof.

I wonder if Haynes made a mistake in that line. Wouldn't be the first time.

But also wonder if Terry would balk at the idea of being a lame duck coach and "part ways mutually."

I'm sure Terry has suiters, but find it hard to believe he wouldn't want one last shot at least with this team.

I honestly want Stotts fired, maybe Olshey, just so we can move on and hear about the next problem.

Terry's stock is prolly higher now than ever before among national circles. The risk with us bombing next season is really high, and most likely not worth taking if he wants longevity.

To be fair knowing myself and s2, we would still complain about the Coach and GM when things don't work out. :)

And that's just it. I hate Doc Rivers. HATE him. But he's clearly vastly better than Terry. Ditto D'Antoni. I don't want either of them coaching the Blazers - but I also don't want Terry coaching them.

Don't really blame him. A few more losses in the west and you're out of the playoffs. We aren't GS to have that luxury to mess around.

Would Rhondo be a decent addition.
who in your mind would be that coach, to take this team to the next level,?

Not sure if your Rondo comment is in response to me or not. But I'm pretty sure that last night I posted something about merely swapping out Turner for Rondo would be a huge step forward in shoring up our back court. Not that it's realistic, just a quick example of getting an actual vet back-up PG to replace Turner.

As to the coach - I really don't pay enough attention to the rest of the league, or other basketball leagues, to have a strong opinion on potential targets. I'm of the opinion that most coaches in the NBA are of roughly the same ability as Terry, and that there are probably no more than 2-3 truly great coaches, followed by maybe 5-7 good coaches, and the rest are either Terry-level or trash. I don't expect that any of the good/great coaches are available. So with that in mind, I'd like to hunt out fresh talent rather than a retread. But if we do go with a retread, I'd go for Van Gundy (either). I think there might be another couple ex-coaches along the lines of the VGs, but I can't think of them ATM.

As I said, I'm not familiar with any assistants, but I am curious about Ime Udoka. If he's not a good candidate, then so be it. But I'm intrigued by him for the following reasons:
    • Native son
    • Recent player
    • Pops disciple
I think those three things would give him the necessary cachet to immediately have the respect of the players - particularly Dame, given how important his connection to the community is.

I know a lot of people feel Luke Walton is overrated, and perhaps he is. But again, his pedigree intrigues me:
    • Native son
    • Jackson disciple
    • Kerr disciple (who also has ties to Pops)
    • Son of Walton
Just given the coaches and players that he's been around gives him a huge amount of knowledge that Terry can only dream of.

I don't think either of these guys are likely to "take us to the next level" starting next season, but would rather be someone we could grow the team with over the next few seasons. If there IS someone out there with experience that can immediately build upon this season I'd certainly go for whoever that is.

But I do want to circle back and end this by stating that I don't have any strong feelings about WHO replaces Terry, just that he be replaced by someone. Once those that have a wide knowledge base of the various coaches from the various basketball leagues narrow the search to a handful of coaches, then I'll be able to learn a little about each candidate and come up with an opinion on which one I'd prefer.

He got hired by the Kings and is battling a sexual assault case in court.
