Steph Curry is 31 right now. Would you have a problem paying him that money for the next two years of his services?

2 yrs yeah, 4 yrs is questionable and Dame would be guaranteed 4 more starting at age 31 with the supermax, and is Dame as good as Steph?

Actually, it makes perfect sense. Unfortunately for his argument, corporations ROUTINELY give away product to celebrities in order to make more money in the long run, than they'd make had they relied on celebrities paying full price for their product.

Actually, it's ONLY by looking at the scoreboard that one might think he played well. He was FAR worse than his stats suggest.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the extension just adds two years to Dame’s current contract.

Wrong. I see it’s a four year extension.

All these are simply assumptions. You ASSUME Neil won't make stupid decisions. You ASSUME those decisions Neil makes will win us a title. You ASSUME Dame' will make more in the long run.

    This is horrible financial planning.

When a guaranteed 200 million is staring you in the face, you don't go back and offer a discount based on assumptions.

I wonder if instead of money we could just give Dame Gresham?

I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say that your situation is NOTHING like Dame's.

Did you EARN a raise for the company you work for, or was said money left on the table from another company and a completely different situation?

If so, stop comparing your choice to Dame's. They're not remotely the same.

Yeah, I researched that and saw that I misunderstood the deal. Still, that takes Dame to the same age as Chris Paul is now. This season was the first real drop in his production, and Dame has been healthier than Paul over his career. I think locking him up for six years of his prime is a good business decision.

Dame is making close to 30% of the cap this season

if he's making 50M in 2025 and the cap is 148M he'd be making 34% of the cap

I think a lot of people are freaking out about the raw numbers of his salary without considering the full context

    so did Dame

he could have got a 30% extension the last time instead of 25%, but he split the difference and took a 27.5% extension

I think we offer him $100 mill and rename Lake Oswego, Lake O'Lillard.

    And also throw in Gresham.

And the Moda, dumb name. We can rename it the Dame Dome!

    Its called taking a chance.

And for the record,m its great planning by the organization.

How come you havent address what some have said that Dame can make the balance up in endorsement when the team wins it all and plays better due to a better supporting cast?

    Of course its ALL assumptions.

You speak as a man on a 50K a year salary. If you have 100 Mill in the bank, With another 150 mill coming, you wouldn't then take 50 mill less to win it all and trey to make it up in endorsements? I mean how much money is enough in today's world?

Greed truly does rule this world...

    SMH.....

I'M not a greedy person, so I guess i'm able to see my points better than most.

Will a 34 year old Dame be worth 34%(or whatever it is) of the salary cap? I don’t know but worst case he’s a huge expiring that year I guess.

The level of smugness in this post is startling.

Especially from someone who has still yet to give one valid and non-presumptive reason as to why Dame should take less than what he has earned. I'm a fairly left-leaning person both when it comes to social stuff as well as the financial, but this is just a new level. Not sure how to respond.
