Terry Stotts was only there because Simons went off against the Kings.

Exactly. You extend him and hope he continues to produce. If he doesn't you fire him later. An extension is just that. An extension of the contract.

If you are going to argue that Stotts did the best anybody could with a flawed roster - how can you not advocate firing Olshey for putting that flawed roster together?:dunno:

Who played Simons? For 48 min and had 37? Points?

You're kidding me, right? Stotts only played them because he wanted to lose so we could fall to the 4th seed to avoid OKC.

For all those successful coaches there's a dozen each that failed.

Terry isnt the best but he isnt bad. This roster isnt even in the playoffs with a bad coach.

Besides the Turner/Meyers contracts Neil has been a good GM.

Most likely any action the Blazers take will not result in a title. Let's make solid choices and if it breaks our way great, if not I can live without it, it's just a game.

The most important aspect io a coach is that the players do what he asks and buy in. I believe he has that.

I hope we don't lose both assistants to other teams.

No, we're still in the playoffs. Roll the ball it for Dame and CJ and they'll carry a team. Run one basic defense and... oh... wait... that's exactly what we do.

Wow, now we're settling for "isn't bad." Name the last coach that "wasn't bad" that won a title.

WCF is not mediocre. WCF kind of indicates we’re a Top 4 team in the league.

Yeah, finishing 2nd in the West is hardly mediocre.

I think if they had taken the route to tank 4 years ago, he'd probably be gone. But the team has improved each year since the breakup and excelled this year in the playoffs.
It seems players, like the culture and it looks as if Dame & CJ can lead through the playoffs, so maybe we will be able to tweak the roster to be as in contention as this year, next year?
Just a player or so away from being able to knock on that championship door.
Looking forward to summer league and fall camp is 120 days away.

The team has gotten better each of the last 4 years, and will improve again next year, I think.
