Would you agree that the 1st half leads were built primarily on guys other than Dame and CJ playing well? Dame had a good 1st quarter in game 4 but had one of the worst few seconds of any player ever at the end of the half to give GS 5 points when we should've had the last shot. CJ had a few good moments in the 1st half too but overall I'd say those 2 didn't play particularly well and we still had big leads right?

Okay, lets pretend you're right and they hit a wall. Why didn't coach recognize that and plan accordingly by the 3rd time it happened? It's not even clear if the guy knew Dame was injured.

I would, to an extent. I think the team as a whole hit a funk, but Lillard hit it the hardest. Not everyone on the team hit the wall with the same impact or the same exact time, because not everyone played the minutes our stars did in Denver.

Maybe he did, but like others have asked that have not been answered, run plays for who else? Hood didnt play well at all this series and neither did Kanter. Run them for Hark and Aminu? Collins?

Sorry I understand the coach wanting to run things through our stars even when fatigued and spent, because its still a better shot than running plays for our scrubs.

Again, I'm not saying Stotts didn't make mistake. That Dame was sharp. I'm saying MANY factors come into play with all of this and hitting a wall because of being gassed SHOULD be one thing to consider in the equation. You keep coming back like they should go forever and being gassed had NOTHING to do with it.

    Sorry. Not buying that.

The answer to who I've already answered in this thread.

I'm not saying they weren't tired. I'm wondering why we would run players into the ground if they were tired. I've given several suggestions to combat that and you keep coming back saying I'm not recognizing it.

    It's a lame excuse.

I don't feel like making a new thread so I will throw this in here. Some cumulative stats from our series with GS. We shot 143 threes to their 127. Both teams shot a little over 36% on threes.
We took five more free throws, 92 to 87, but made the same amount 71.
They outrebounded us 197 to 163 and had 117 assists to our 97.

Ran them into the grtound because the team doesn't have anyone else half as reliable. I didn't see your suggestions quoted to me. Maybe I missed them in other posts. But even so, the suggestions have to be on the roster and the roster is well know. Your suggestions, whoever they are, are not reliable, as evidenced by many threads all year long saying we need better forwards, etc. So whoever you chose as an option has an asterisk because they have never been reliable.

I'm saying no one is admitting the team hit a wall. That's ALL I have ever really said. I have maintained several times that multiple factors in this. One of them is hitting a wall and fatigue that I have not seen anyone else point out and when I did, I was told lame excuse.

So what is it. You are saying they got tired, or i'm wrong? Aside from other factors, on this point, they either hit a wall or they didn't. If they were tired, then my point is valid, right?

And if so, then what are we going round and round about? I've admitted several times that Other mistakes also came into play, like decision making. Why cant it just be acknowledged that another factor was fatigue?

You call it Lame, I call it logical.

    We can agree to disagree.

Expected the extension. It would look really bad on our organization to fire the coach that greatly exceeded expectations and got us back to back homecourt advantage in the playoffs then got us to the WCF after 19 years regardless of why. What good coach would want to come to the Blazers knowing that regardless of what they do an extension is never guaranteed. Last year was the year to fire Stotts and not get any backlash from it.

Oddly enough, defense is the least of our worries. It's our offense that's garbage.

This is good, yet expected news.

Anyone who thought that Stotts would be fired after winning multiple COM awards, the team greatly exceeding expectations in the regular season, sustaining success after injuries to 2 of the top 3 players, reaching the WCF, and being instrumental in creating an outstanding culture.... was setting themselves up for delusional disappointment.

Last night my wife was telling me about an article she read where Terry was quoted as saying something along the lines of "We don't need strategy, we need effort." I rarely read sports articles these days, but that sure sounds like something he would say. Anybody recall reading something like this somewhere?

I hate the Coach Terry Stotts. In the Playoffs, when you absolutely need in-game Adjustments he looks lost, he allways let's opponent Superstar go crazy while Lillard is getting Double teamed, he has no idea about Defense. And his offense is so slow and predictable, it is really ugly
