I know right? God bless America!

I have to take breaks from the board but I do love "The Fellas" (as Mr. Spud likes to call you nerds on the board). I try really hard to show patience and not be too snarky and mean. Sometimes I'm more successful than others.

What's weird to me is that I saw the discussion going in a direction I wasn't interested in being a part of so I just logged out for the weekend. I was specifically brought back in and told I was wrong. Then later diagnosed and labeled with a personality disorder by someone who calls out Mods over and over when people are throwing around personal insults and name calling. But I never even gave an actual opinion on the prize/gifts in the first place - I just tried to explain why these women might be offended.

The only opinion of my own that I expressed is that it was just such a ridiculously stupid faux pas on the committee's part and bound to get them sued. I personally wouldn't want to be given a prize like this in front of my co-workers but if you guys want to see sex toys and porn handed out to the teams at the Super Bowl, NASCAR, etc. I won't judge. You do you!

No kidding! I sure as hell wouldn't want to be the one handing them out!
That came to my mind immediately and prompted my post about World Champs Softball team. They probably did not have those toys back then but I can still remember Muzuka. No no, not smart to be handing her one of those toys, 1st amendment or not.

This is why i start to wonder about the people that frequent the OT section of the forum.

If you got out of my post that i said you were wrong, then i suggest you reread the posts.
I never once said you were wrong and i said both parties technically were wrong.

But hey. While your at it, why don't you tell people its nOt okay to tell other people their opinion on how they should feel. (Double standards?)

Listen i didn't mean to ruffle your feather by quoting you, i was simply sharing my differing opinion. If you aren't able to handle that then maybe a forum isn't the best place to post your thoughts on something???

And for the record if my post was so illogical it wouldn't have recieved likes. Just sayin....

Whoa! Where's my gift huh? You think you can HCP me like he did Kingspeed and get away with it?

    I think not.

Also, My post had a decent amount in it and was initiated from your question about whether it matters who the sponsor is.

I do like how it is called an illogical post but both you and spud do not care to break it down and detail what is illogical, but hey, at least you didn't show angst and get mad and run off for the summer for me simply posting a differing opinion....

I'ma leave this thread now. Seems it more about pointing fingers than discussing and breaking down differing opinions.

I will analyze my own post though.....

I missed that. All bets are off now. Unless that was the ONLY prize they got. (illogical?)

Companies that sponsor events give away thier products as prizes almost 100% of the time. (illogical?)

If the squash teams don't like the prizes then maybe they should put more care into who is running/sponsoring the event and not participate in those they believe could have controversy?(Illogical to suggest checking the sponsors of an event before entering???)

So on this same theme then would it be wrong for say... Charmin to give away lifetime supply of TP to a winner? (illogical?)

Or Crest to provide a case of toothpaste? (illogical?)

sorry @Spud147 I agree with what you said, but the sponsor is a sexual toy company. Gifts from the company to the winner I would assume would be freebies form the sponsor. Hence, toys. If it were a men's competition, cock rings and condoms... I dunno, but The sponsor has to be taken into consideration when trying to admonish such a prize/gift.
    Again... illogical?

    GTFO with that illogical bs...........

Not at all the case; many opinions are highly illogical.

I didn't call anything else in your post illogical; only the claim that it wouldn't have received likes if it weren't. Settle down Francis.

Bodyman, it was strictly meant in good humor. I would never say that in anger to anyone. Well, maybe the guy that ran off with my ex wife, but that's it.

I would think it logical that we can all agree that getting anyone to sponsor women's squash should be considered a victory.

I don't have cable and I'm not sure how many different versions of ESPN there are these days but women's squash would have to be midnight programming on ESPN 16 wouldn't it?

Men's squash would barely make ESPN 12.

ahhh well you weren't the first one and the other one made it sound as if my opinion made her leave the forum for the summer???

I dunno. just a bit perplexed and annoyed by how spud reacted to my opinion. I never meant any offense, just bringing my prospective in a forum built to discuss things..

Bottom line is if they didn't want these ultra-nice personal massagers, why the hell did they compete so hard to get them? :dunno:

Women! I'll never understand them! :smiley-dizzy:
