How would we have done against Warriors if Nurkic had played?

Two mediocre players for one really good player who continues to improve and is also on a cheap contract? What's the point of asking such a question?

The better question is would you trade Nurk or CJ for Siakam?

Would Nurkic have helped us defend GS? Or no?

Nurkic wouldve helped put Draymond on his butt when he tried to come into then lane. He also wouldve helped a lot on the defensive boards. They gave up way too many offensive rebounds against GS (but really most of the playoffs).

Our defense wasn't the problem in that series. They basically averaged their average. It was our offensive ineptitude in the 2nd half that led to our multiple collapses.

It's been proven that if we had Nurk, most of their players would have defected to the Blazers and sought asylum, and the Warriors would have had to forfeit the series.

I thought it came down to three things. Not finishing off good defense (the rare occasions they played it), with getting rebounds. Turnovers, and everytime GS would start to make a run Dame or CJ would try to “take” over and they simply stopped playing team basketball on offense. So basically as a whole they played pretty crappy in 3 second halfs...

Who is the closest player we have to Siakam? Would it be Collins? Aminu, Harkless, Jake or Skal?
There are lots of players in the league with his measurable. But what makes him unique. I mean ... he schooled Draymond Green, who killed us.
Siakam took a few years for him to develop. He was in the same draft class as our own Skal.
Siakam is 6'9 with a 7'3 wingspan. Can handle the ball. Can finish at the rim.
Aminu is between 6'9 - 6'10. Poor handle, Poor finisher ... mostly now spots up at the 3 to shoot.
Zach is a legit 7' with a 7'5 wingspan . Great help defender. Slow feet
Jake is also 6'9, can shoot, handle the ball, good help defender, slasher, ... I can see him signing with the Raptors next year.

Probably Zach. Zach has a lot of the physical tools, especially if he fills out. Needs to get more comfortable with the ball though.

Siakim scored 32 points in >80% FGA shooting that reminded me a lot of Meyers scoring 30 points in 75% FGA shooting, and added a lot to our effort. Meyers even bested Steph in the 1st half taking only 6 shots to score 5 swish3s when Steph required 7. My answer is Meyers, who can be a major factor in a 2020 NBA Championship. Alternating Meyers with Nurk (when he is back) can give us 36+ point Center scoring, open shots from high post passes and screens, and maintained hustle on the court that optimizes play from both. We are on the way to the Championship!

No, Meyers is nothing like Siakam.

Despite their dissimilarities, the scoring talent demonstrated by Meyers and Siakim can win games!

Kerr would start Green at Center, Nurkic can't keep up with him or switch on Klay\Curry, our transition defense still sucks, Stotts still sees things in 5 minute delay.

So things would be pretty much the same, maybe his presence could stop the bleeding in game 3 or game 4.

It was a pleasure seeing defensive players like Gasol (who gets away with fouls more often than our bigs),Siakam,Kawai and Ibaka put a body on GS scum. I really hope they will win, though it will probably give KD an excuse to stay because "they need him now". :smiley-blownose:

Nurk wouldn't matter. Dame actually killed us with his drives into the paint even though he was defended like a coffin for a corpse. He made horrible ("just horrible'-aka BWalton) decision making in the GS series.

Kerr knows we are poor decision makers. And it starts at the top.
Extend a coach ... who got swept by a team missing their best player.
Playing the Warriors the last 12 playoff games and still learned nothing ... Then extend the coach ...
Getting up by 17 3 games in a row, then blow the lead each and everytime ... Great coaching, isn't it?

Oh Yeah, Stotts is a big part of that pie chart.

Go out and look at some of Skals highlights in College & Sac, he is the closest thing, imo, we have to Siakam. Skinny & rangy, inside out game, shot blocker.
