Bummer, but sounds like a good opportunity for him and wish him well.

...especially if he was the only one coaching defense - maybe this just allows for a defensive mastermind to come in and help improve on the defensive schemes :dunno:

isnt Avery Johnson looking to get back in the nba? I believe he also worked with Stotts in Dallas.

My guess is Moran moves to the front of the bench.

Seems like barely a promotion, they must be paying him better.

...but he also sees this as potential for being the next man up once they fire Saunders by this Christmas, Interim Head Coach Vanterpool has a nice ring to it no?! :dunno:

Flip was a local legend in Minnesota and I doubt they fire his son without giving him time.

My David Vanderpool Story (THANKS @SlyPokerDog!!!)

This was a the Skybox game where we got to shoot on the court afterward.

So before I hit the 1st of the three in a row Vandy's son is next to me with his ball. We make eye contact and I say:

"You go, I go. You go, I go."

    The little alpha male says:

    "I'll wait for your miss."

I had to save face so, THWAP! I hit the first one. No rim. I just looked at the kid and smiled. KS was too busy talking about himself to realize the NBA Jam like sideline shooting display that was occurring at center court. It's no wonder that @KingSpeed didn't hear the announcer say "He's heating up..." after the 2nd one barely touched rim. I think he was still off in me, me, me land when the announcer screamed "HE'S ON FIRE!"

Probably going because they have nicer weather there during the NBA season.

Maybe he thinks Saunders is more likely to get fired making him the lead replacement for the coaching job than Stotts.

    Why did he leave?

    He probably got a raise.
